Another Shooting On Chestnut Street

Shooting – Chestnut Street
A Norwalk Police Officer reported hearing 4 to 5 shots fired on Chestnut Street at 3:52 PM this afternoon.
Responding officers located the crime scene on Chestnut Street between Monroe Street and Henry Street and found one man who had been shot.
The male victim was treated at the scene and taken by ambulance to Norwalk Hospital.
His condition is unknown at this time.
Detectives responded to the scene and have assumed the investigation.
A suspect vehicle was last seen southbound on Chestnut Street heading toward Henry Street in what has been described as a silver colored 4-door sedan with tinted windows.
Contact was made in-person and via phone with officials at two nearby schools, Columbus Magnet School and Side by Side Community School to notify school officials and assure the safety of any students and staff remaining after the school day.
We are presently in the early stages of this active investigation.
