Too Bad Norwalk’s Council Peeps Prefer Power Grabs
When we last left the issue of the Norwalk Redevelopment Agency, The Norwalk Economic Development Corporation and the Common Council’s planning committee, it appeared as if the Economic Development Corporation was aksed by the Mayor and Common Council President Doug Hempstead to unwind the employees and money to a tune of $4.5 million form the EDC to the Redevelopment Agency. The thing neither Mayor Moccia nor Doug Hempstead have the authority to ask for anything without, get this, a common council vote. And there wasn’t one. Making the whole history of this sad state of affairs rather illegal. Of course, no one is watching the doings of this council, not that there’s much to see, because holding people accountable for following the rules is so anti-tea party these days.
