Norwalk BOE Still Working On Superintendent Search

The BOE is busy, um, doing stuff about filling that superitendent position. Like pikcing a search firm, which they finally got around to agreeing might be a good idea. Naturally there are the hire-a-native peeps who think the homegrown certficated already in the system people should have a shot at this. Some of them even are on the BOE. But a search firm it is, and now future superintendent candidates can be subjected to the “process.”

Focus Groups on State Budget

The political spin is simple, Democrats are saying that Governor Rell used tax payer funds to conduct a political poll. Governor Rell is saying that the focus group was part of a larger effort to study the state budgeting process and how to better manage it. I will now pause here for deep reflection on this issue. Yeah right. Okay everyone in Hartford is so dysfunctional they don’t see that having an academic study on the state budgeting process is like playing solitaire while in legislative voting session. Oh, wait.

Newly Adopted State Budget Impacts Norwalk

Buried within the state budget is a cut to the judicial branch causing a plan to move juvenile court from a Commerce street building to the Norwalk courthouse on Belden ave. The domino effect would then have motor vehicle and criminal cases move to Stamford because there’s a federal law that says you can’t have juvenile and adult courts in the same building. Which kinda brings us back to the whole idea that Rell floated about closing the Norwalk Court House and moving cases to Stamford.
