Proudly presents “Stockings from Santa”
Starting November 1st 2008 and continuing through December 5th 2008, Thursday, Fri. and Sat. evenings from 4 PM to 9 PM donations can be dropped off in the front hallway in our donations bucket.
This years theme “Stockings from Santa” We will be filling holiday stockings for our men and women so they will have a little touch of home during the holidays.
In conjunction with Adopt-a-Platoon and local coordinator Joanne Romano , The Son’s of Italy will be adopting 2 a mobile units Both with close ties to Norwalk for the holidays to help make their deployment feel more like home.

Norwalk Symphony Performance With Mendelssohn Choir

Mendelssohn Choir Joins Norwalk Symphony for Handel’s Messiah, an English Tradition

On Saturday, December 13th at 8:00 pm, the Norwalk Symphony in collaboration with the Mendelssohn Choir of Connecticut, Carole Ann Maxwell, Artistic Director will present  Handel’s Messiah, an English Tradition. Under the baton of Diane Wittry, Music Director of the Norwalk Symphony, this concert has become a perennial favorite.  Reserve your tickets early!

The concert will be held in the Norwalk Concert Hall, 125 East Avenue at 8:00 p.m. “Podium Perspectives”, a pre-concert talk with NSO Music Director Diane Wittry and Dr. Carole Ann Maxwell, Artistic Director of the MCC will take place at 7:00 p.m., open to concert ticket holders.  A reception at the Concert Hall will be held following the performance.

What a landslide!

A debt of gratitude is owed to President Bush, Vice President Dick Cheney, former White House adviser Karl Rove and, of course, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin. The trillion-dollar debt that Bush created turned the world economy upside down. When Bill Clinton balanced the budget, the economy surged. Even conservative columnist George Will said Clinton’s economic policies were those that any Republican would be proud of. Unlike Bush, who took over a well-oiled machine from the Clinton administration, Barack Obama has been dealt the worst hand in American history. It’s going to be difficult for him to reverse eight years of across-the-board mismanagement. Good luck.

Morris Says We Must All Sacrifice To Improve Economy

The Hour records re-elected State Rep Bruce Morris’ words post election. I’m curious if this sacrifice means that Morris will stop taking tax payer funded salary for hours he does not work for the BOE.

“Our economy has been such that 1 percent of the country, according to some statistics, has benefited from the economic growth of the past 10 or 12 years,” said Morris. “It is going to be essential to start to take a look at economic policies that reward the hard work and labor of the everyday American citizen.”
