UCONN Important News

This, for now, is the lead story on the Courant:

UConn Will Discontinue The Use Of Cafeteria Trays

Clearly there is no more important news in Connecticut than this.

The idea is to cut down on the half-eaten rolls, uneaten desserts, un-drunk sodas and other goodies students piled on their trays in the buffet line and then realize they are too full to eat.

Besides eliminating wasted food, UConn predicts trayless dining will have the side benefit of keeping a lid on food costs and reducing the amount of water used to wash the trays.

    Sounds like a great idea-
    another plus-
if you are using a plate, then it will seem more like a regular meal, perhaps a large restaurant and not so much cafeteria experience. If you need more- walk back up.
I see this just as the university has suggested- a great way to curb impulses of a hungry young person and then food is dumped.

I look forward to further information/statistics as the year unfolds.
So pleased that such ideas get through the maze to fruition.
