Carlin always told it like he saw it. Most people would agree. And some people are stupid.

“I always question the received reality. The consensus reality is often intentionally misleading. The people who are in charge do what they want and they will always do what they want. The power does what it wants to.” George Carlin

    AMEN
He was a real expert on the language.
“Why do they call it a near miss.? Two planes come too close over the airport, that’s a near hit, not a near miss”
He had a lot of fun with politically correct names for things. We need more people that smart, to keep us honest.

Very sad, A life cut short by using chemicals.

  • 5 Anonymous // Jun 23, 2008 at 11:47 pm

But they were good chemicals, they say his first media job in Boston at a tv station he took the news van to NY to buy pot,god loved him for things like that he lived a great life.

George Carlin was one of the first records my brother bought and played as a teenager. His favorite line was put into memory because of my mother often saying, ” I’ll wash your mouth out with soap.” Carlin’s reply to that line was, “I’ll blow bubbles out my *ss.”

I loved George Carlin for his wordsmith abilities – wouldn’t you feel grateful if you had a student in your class dissect language the way George could? I often wonder if those students who constantly ask “why” about everything (why do we need to raise our hands? Sit criss-cross applesauce on the carpet?) are future George Carlins. With that in mind, I have them work through the answers with my assistance…..the world is a less funny place today without George’s humor.

#4 - Very Sad is your sweeping generalization about the cause of death, but I would expect no less from a poster with the handle Say No.

Say No to using your brains forever. You’ve got a good head start.

So glad we saw him numerous times at the Palace Theater in Stamford

Rest in Peace. You’ll be missed

Robert F - Glad to see you back and irritable as ever. Where have they been keeping you?

  • 12 Robert F // Jun 24, 2008 at 10:50 pm

    Mr Moto

I’ve been right here all along, using chemicals of course.

    From the news
Comedian George Carlin has entered a rehab program to deal with his use of alcohol and painkillers. “I’m going into rehab because I use too much wine and Vicodin,” said Carlin in a statement. “No one told me I needed this; I recognized the problem and took the step myself.” Carlin’s spokesman said the comedian entered a drug and alcohol treatment program on Monday, but did not know how long he would remain in treatment. The 67-year-old comic has had three heart attacks.

If this is your hero, then I guess you will keep on token.

Took me far less than 8 seconds to determine that the previous poster is stupid. Those who proclaim moral superiority in such fashion are usually the ones who have the most to hide.

Agreed #14, except denial often takes the place of hiding…

Wine and Pain Killers are known to cause heart attacks 3 to 4 years later.
