Exactly why won’t the Dems like that? Because violent crime, while decreasing, is still way too high?

Nice article about the community gardens in the New York Times.

    Mike Geake:

Several of us had high hopes for you as an independent thinker and recent posts by you have been quite an eye-opener.

    With regard to this post:

Mr. Geake, how is it that you can make the statement that the Democratic members of the CC think as one? If that is so, how do you account for Mr. Krummel’s partisan grandstanding, or for that matter, Mr. Sutton’s voting record? Also, do you ask the hard questions that need to be asked or or do you follow the, as you say, “Dems” with their oh, so obvious partisan blocking of anything remotely Republican, like Charter revision? Remember… in your above post, it is YOU who surprisingly draws a partisan line by referring to the “Dems.”

The original post #1 said “The Dems won’t like this one” prior to the link to the Norwalk Advocate article. That was what I was referencing. That post was changed after I commented, leaving my remarks hanging.

I’ll let the others defend their own voting records; mine stands for itself (and when it doesn’t, I come out here to explain myself).

While the trend for unreported crimes still rise the report is favorable?

When is 2007 2008 figures? Here and now we tell our kids.

Exactly what was spent to attain these numbers?

A raise of hands at the East Norwalk safety meeting simply reflected how people feel in Norwalk not safe.

Why is Rillings thinking of spending a million dollars on crime prevention? On gun related crimes alone?

Police depts aggressive enforcement last night should say it all.Like one report is going to make us all feel safe protected and draw big names to Norwalk for development?

    Nice try.

    Mr. Geake:

You faired well with that question. Devil’s advocate, my friend… keeps you on your toes. Keep your heart true, your mind focused, and you’ll stay afloat in that political toilet bowl. Keep smiling!

Question: WHO is responsible for the idea of changing the mayoral term to four years? Exactly WHERE did that idea come from?

  • 9 Anonymous // Jun 2, 2008 at 10:53 am

    # 8 I think it was Corda who suggested it after they renewed his contract.

The Hour has stories today about crime down in Norwalk and nobody stepping up to be point man in organizing a local Guardian Angels chapter. Without dedicated local support, there won’t be a local chapter. Do we really need one ? Some believe more time spent in the more troubled neghborhoods by police patrols would be a big help. Do we need another inner-city patrol during the busiest hours ? How many new cops would that take ?

The formula most are banking on is after a new mayor and a new police chief we may be able to call the quality of life acceptable.Of course by then we will see what fiasco has been planned for the city when whats good for us is being built.

You will probably be waiting a long time for new mayor and chief

  • 13 Anonymous // Jun 3, 2008 at 11:33 am
