Norwalk: Tonight BOE Meeting

They are evaluating Corda.

The Board of Education will meet tonight to evaluate Superintendent Salvatore Corda.

The meeting in Room A300 of City Hall starts at 7 p.m., and a closed session is anticipated.

Corda has had the job for seven years. His review is conducted every year, school board Chairwoman Susan Hamilton said.

The school board last approved a new contract for Corda in August. The pact is the subject of a lawsuit brought by the Norwalk Federation of Teachers in September.

The union alleges that the school board denied the public’s right to free speech by scheduling the special meeting only 24 hours in advance and withholding the contract until about five minutes before members called for public comment.

He is one of the worst they should fire him and everyone involved in hiring him. They need to get rid of the ones responsible for renewing his contract.

I hope no one expects this to be a hard-hitting evaluation. Anyone who does will probably be disappointed.

Is this meeting scehduled for tonight, the day after Memorial Day?????? And…it’s going to be closed session!!!!!!!!
How is the taxpayer in this city supposed to voice thier opposition to “mistakes” like Corda without notice??

Who approved his hiring 7 years ago???

  • 6 Anonymous // May 27, 2008 at 9:48 pm

#5: The BOE at the time approved it. The majority of the members of the board at that time are no longer on the board.

What transpired at the meeting last evening?

  • 8 Anonymous // May 28, 2008 at 7:47 pm

Very shady goings on……maybe they put Salvatore on “double-secret probation” just like the boys in the movie “Animal House”–remember Mr. Blutarsky had “no grade point average”? Sort of reminds everyone of the big frat party going on at Central O–only problem is, Salvatore is left to handle the pledges for next year….unless Dean Wormer decides to have a parade!!

Anonymous, #8, Oh my gosh, thanks for the visual - A parade of the Animal House kind going down East Avenue…..I say no more, but to leave you all thinking about that.
