Norwalk: Flax Park Cleanup Observations

What a great job everyone did at the park. I’ve posted a photo of the resulting bagged garbaage below. Looks like DPW might want to check the storm drain there, it was filled with water and garbage, most likely blocked. There’ll be more photos that I’ll be posting in this thread as they come in.

A big thanks for everyone who came out to Flax Hill today to help us clean up. It was a great success and we really got a whole lot of garbage out and now its up to those who use it to pick up after themselves. After this we will be arrainging to clean up Ryan

Nascar Open Thread

By popular request, its all about Nascar. So what is ailing the Nascar fan base? The Dallas Morning News Reports:

NASCAR research and development usually focuses on minute technical details such as gear ratios and air displacement. Last winter, one topic was fan displacement.

The racing giant took note of increasing numbers of empty seats and declining television ratings during the 2006 and ‘07 Cup seasons. It determined its most ardent supporters were watching six fewer minutes of the races. Research also showed those fans were attending half as many races as they used to – an average of three to five as opposed to six to 10.

Today The Hour provided two editorials that inspired deep thoughts by Jack Handey moments. The first, wraps a contradiction inside of the enema that must have inspired this line:
