    Today’s headlines:
Duff wants more funding for state parks in budget

Maybe he could try getting some for Norwalk parks and then we could have some nice places to go like Cranberry. Maybe the city will spruce up Flax Hill Park now that this group is going to clean it. And another maybe is that people will keep it clean so everyone can enjoy it.

Has anybody signed up for this cleanup yet?
I went to the site but it doesn’t say how many people are going to be there. Its supposed to b e a nice day tomorrow so maybe that will bring alot of people out.

Course Duff wants, we all know there isn’t much money around so it will look just as good at the end of the year what he tried to get for us in Norwalk rather than what he got.

Duff got a heck of lot more for Norwalk than Cafero did….

  • 5 Anonymous // Apr 5, 2008 at 4:27 pm

Are you crazy? Larry cafero has done more for hetting funds for Norwalk than anyone. Besides, Cafero is a state rep and Duff is a senator, who do you think should have more pull? Now that its getting to be election time here come the Cafero bashers! No one was bashing Duff in the above comments they were simply wondering if Duff could get some funds for Norwalk parks as well.

Whats all this got to do with cleaning up Flax Hill Park? I should think that people will want to show up and help out especially those who have complained about it on this blog. Its getting done so why not grab your kids and head over there tomorrow and help? I’m sure the kids have a bat and ball or at least a glove so they can have a day of fresh air!

The cleanup is only a start but what a fine way to spend the day showing one of our better least known parks to many new residents and give them a chance explore enjoy and relax. That is what a park is for isn’t it?

I think you will find there wasn’t complaints there was the fact the blog simply uncovered the fact the gates were closed and the park needed residents to care. We now have open gates and people who care thats positive progress no one can complain about that.

Larry Cafero is a great example of why we need term limits !!

who cares this was not a political gathering hell we can’t even get city hall to reconize the last clean up by the League of Woman voters last week at the aquarium . Get behind the NNHT they have a great team its not about politics its about the kids.

They are collecting for the homeless shelter as well , another positive thought for the day anything donated will be brought to the shelter after the cleanup.

A big thanks for everyone who came out to Flax Hill today to help us clean up. It was a great success and we really got a whole lot of garbage out and now its up to those who use it to pick up after themselves. After this we will be arrainging to clean up Ryan Park and other places in town. We hope to get many more teens involved as well as parents and community leaders. Unfortunately because of the rain last night and during the week the baseball diamond was unplayable so we didn’t get to hold the game we had planned but hopefully next time around we will have sunshine and blue skies and lots of people to have a good game.

Joanne Thank You! I have never seen someone with so much energy! I hope you got some quite time this afternoon. What a great way to meet really nice people.

Thank you from someone who couldn’t be there but does use and enjoy the park, a walk through this afternoon tells me you were very busy.It looks nice.

  • 14 Anonymous // Apr 6, 2008 at 8:18 pm

Believe me Aunt Bertha, I didn’t do any more than anyone else. I can’t believe the way everyone just rolled up their sleeves and got busy. I do have to say though that Ashleigh really went the extra mile when she went behind the pond and wallowed in muck to clean bottles and garbage on that side. If it was me, I probably would have ended up in the muck! As everyone can see from all the bags we realy had great help. I just hope everyones efforts go a long way as a reminder to keep the park clean. Thanks again to everyone.
