Snow crews from the public works department began salting before the storm on Tuesday and the majority of them continued plowing until the early morning hours on Wednesday, according to Alvord.

“A little extra time spent last night has proven to be a good investment,” he said.
Some public works crew members in Norwalk spent Wednesday cleaning storm drains and clearing catch basins but the majority of the workers were allowed to rest.
