I recall seeing here some time ago information about a state program in which video recordings of public roads in need of repair are made. I checked out the state DOT website but didn’t see any reference to the program. Does anybody know how to get info re this program?

Turf-Girl: Why didn’t you post yesterday’s article in the Hour about Peter Bondi stepping down as Chair of the Historical Commission and being replaced by Dave Park? Is it musical chairs on the HC, or political cronyism?
Isn’t the HC supposed to form a Nominating Committee in November as in other city commissions? Doesn’t the Nominating Committee (after meeting and deciding whom to nominate) nominate the chair and vice-chair at the January meeting?
From Robert Koch’s rehash of a former article, it sounds like it is a done deal just like last year. Is there any hope for a democratic process on the HC? Or is democracy HISTORY? -
Turf - Girl can you post anything about the DTC meeting last night ?

Parents want more security during primary at schools Primary Day
In the days following, Superintendent of Schools Salvatore J. Corda met with other city officials to discuss their concerns and internal plans.
For additional security, the school board asked for police assistance in directing traffic during arrival and dismissal of students. Police will only be needed at Nathan Hale Middle School and at Columbus Magnet, and Tracey and Wolfpit elementary schools
so this is the the do nothing super? He did something didn’t he ? I realize it doesn’t change the past but at least he was not evasive on the concerns of parents was he?
then we had Mayor Richard A. Moccia agreed police would be available at certain schools but made it clear it would be difficult to assign police at each affected school. This reporting came from the Hour pick up the paper there is more to absorb on this.
ok so we have communictaion but why would it be difficult? he never said no but Is it because we have to have the traditional cruisers at the high schools when they get out days? Or is it a budget or staffing problem? Just once I’d like to see a reporter with incentive ask why is that Mr Mayor? that would be? a first in Norwalk, another first is to get an answer.

With little buildable land left in town, developers are trying to build houses behind existing houses.
On Tuesday, the town took a step toward preventing a rear-lot subdivision near the overcrowded Osborn Hill School this was in
FAIRFIELD.Just curious can this happen here in Norwalk or do we have such an ordinace preventing this type of building?

History Starts with Me!: I didn’t really have anything to say about the HC article. I’m pretty sure that if a chair on any city commission steps down it is the Vice Chair that becomes acting chair until the full commission votes on new officers. But ymmv.

Al Raymond: Hiya. All I know is that the DTC authorized $200/hr for a lawyer to represent Galen at the official hearing in Hartford today. I’ll have more later on this issue.

#6 Does that mean that Peter & Dave will switch chairs every year? How diverse is that!

I thought that Gail Wall was vice-chair of the Historical Commission. #2 is right, Democracy is history.
