“A Christmas Carol” with Alistair Sim is the best christmas movie ever. Miracle on 34th is 2nd and I can’t bare to watch “It’s a wonderful life” again. I ban it from the main tv. I’d rather watch How the Grinch Stole Christmas.

Thanks, TG. Brilliant move on Macy’s part too. Just saw the best Christmas movie last night-Sweeney Todd! The red and white theme was well-done, and the London street scenes with gas lamps and top-hatted gentlemen reminded me of every under-the-tree Dickens Collectable diorama.
I am joking of course, and I will never see another one of those Dickens dioramas again without the scene of human meat pies dancing in my head! Plum pudding anyone?
    P.S., great movie.

I’m watching 34th Street again on Fox Movie Channel because there is absolutely nothing else on. I watched It’s a Wonderful Life for the zillionth time earlier. Merry Christmas!

I watched a tape of 34th Street today. I noticed that in the theatrical trailer (from 1947) a couple of teenage Hollywood actresses (didn’t recognized them) described the movie as “groovey”, as you do above (and here I thought all along that was a ’60’s word!). So that word definitely seems to apply. As you might imagine, I love the courtroom scenes!
