While I love driving, I prefer driving on roads without other cars, thus I’m a huge fan of mass transportation, especially in the form of trains, planes and zeppelins. Then there’s the old fashiony trolley. The venerable Boston T, and the San Diego Trolley system work great. I think Connecticut could use a more subway/metro underground system. Montreal has turned metro and retail into an art form.

Whole Foods Plus Norwalk Developer Equals Fairfield?

I admit, I’m obsessed with Whole Foods. Normally I avoid grocery stores because they figure in a lifestyle that engages in cooking, which is not something I do. Some people can take random ingredients and create something edible. I generally end up with something that catches fire. Thus my obsession with Whole Foods would seem a bit odd. Unless you’ve been to a Whole Foods, and that you might start to understand why I travel to the one in White Plains.

Monroe Republicans Want Finch To Give Up Senate Seat

Bridgeport contributes more to the weird political landscape than any other Connecticut city. Chris Caruso is still contesting a Democratic primary that he lost by 270 votes. Bill Finch won that primary and went on to win election as Mayor of Bridgeport. And in the latest episiode, is keeping his State Senate seat for now.
This, has become a bone for Republicans in Monroe, who are within that senatorial district. From the Connecticut Post:

Signs Of Regional Real Estate Troubles

Antares was riding high, they were being touted as a smart growth, economic boosting, real estate development guru. Now, according to the Advocate, they are showing signs of cracks caused by the financial market exposures to bad sub prime mortgage lending. The Advocate reports:
After showing signs of trouble when it scrapped condominium conversion plans for two of the largest apartment complexes in town, a Greenwich developer has defaulted on a loan, signaling more woes for the beleaguered project, according to a public notice published yesterday.
