Today the Norwalk Department of Public Works held their open hour to the public. Each department within DPW has a display and staff on hand to explain what was going. Naturally I made a beeline to road paving. The good news is that I found out that Quintard is scheduled and budgeted for road paving next year. So hang in there Quintardians, you will one day have a road without ruts and potholes.
It seems also that the First Taxing District spends more time worrying about Klondike Park than the capabilities of the contractors they hire. The Osborne Ave. saga got some added detail. The First Taxing District apparently was told about problems with the contractor they selected, and chose to continue on relying on that contractor. While the First Taxing District did leap into action on a lawsuit for the park, they seem content to sit back and wait for a lawsuit to be filed on the substandard work performed by their sub contractor.
Over all local political flunkie sightings were on overdrive, as Democrats Walter Briggs, Gwenn Briggs, Herb Grant, Andy Garfunkel and Bill Krummel were on hand. Republican sightings yielded Rick McQuaid, Joanne Romano and of course Mayor Dick Moccia. Candidates John Tobin and Dave Park were also on hand.
There was a hive of activity over at the Republican HQ as volunteers streamed in to help out with lit drops in District D today. The Democratic HQ may in fact also be a hive of activity but maintains radio silence.
