Norwalk: A Funny Thing Happened On The Way To The Market

Following the suggestion of a commentator on this gorgeous Wednesday I headed over to the Farmer’s Market at the North Water Street Imax Parking Lot. There was only one farmer there, Wilson from Scott’s Berry Farm. The parking lot was basically empty, as you can see from the picture below. I chatted with Wilson a few minutes about the Farmer’s Market and he said that he was not aware until he pulled in this morning that there was any issue with parking and permits there. He’s been coming to SoNo for 20 years and says he puts in his $5 when he arrives and takes up one parking spot. So they actually do pay for parking.

Bridgeport: FInch Squeaks Out Victory

Or maybe not. Caruso, according to the Connecticut Post, plans on challenging the results.

As of late last night, results showed Caruso trailing state Sen. Bill Finch, the Democrat Party-endorsed candidate, in the primary election for mayor.

But at 10 p.m., Caruso was not prepared to concede nor was he ready to address the crowd of about 300 gathered at Roberto’s Restaurant.

Not once were there any screams of joy.

Not once were there any shouts of enthusiasm or encouragement ringing through the refurbished one-time bank.

Not once were any polling results read.

Norwalk: Common Council Meeting

Tonight there was a full house at the Common Council meeting, meaning no council members was absent, but Mary Roman, the City Clerk was absent since she is in Italy competing at a seniors Olympics event. The Hour did a nice profile of the event earlier in the Month.

After a moment of silence for 9/11 the council worked over the last minutes with minor corrections. It seems ages since I was last at a council meeting, and the night had a sort of a back to school flavor.
