Here’s an uncanny assessment of Corda’s educational plan as described by George Carlin. Yep, that George Carlin.

That was classic! Loved it. Thanks for sharing.

Carlin has it all too right. This is exactly what teachers understand about central office - no one cares. The test scores are directly linked to a negative building climate with little or no motivation for teachers and students.
How long, Oh Lord?

I used to love Carlin. He is an observant and brilliant wit. At the outset, he made some pretty funny statements about “testing” and getting admitted to university physics class on the basis of “having a pencil.” He should have quit before spiraling down in a didactic sermon of cynical, old Marxist conspiracies about “the man keeping us down.”
His whole schtick hinges on buying into the zero-sum-game assumption that the “owners” only prosper at the expense of the common citizen. How is then that Mr. Carlin himself is a multi-millionaire? Because in a “win-win” paradigm, the prosperity of one’s neighbor, employee, or competitor can predict further success for all. He needs to junk the Trotsky and punch up something fresh.

Charles - Good job! Your views on the Carlin hit the nail on the head. It started out very well & very realistic, and then rapidly turned sour and old.
