Norwalk: NEON Has A Plan

When you read through the NEON plan presented to the Board, you begin to understand why the Bobby Burgesses of the world are up in arms over changes. It seems NEON wants to run itself as a real non profit agency that combats poverty. It seems likely that what Bobby and Mimi Burgess don’t like is the open transparency that the operating plan suggests.

Norwalk: Open House & Open Thread

Three things.

The DPW plans to hold an open house on Sept. 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Public Works Center, 15 South Smith St. Tour the waste water treatment plant and eat pop corn.
The house on 93 East ave awaits courts to decide its fate while porch columns and railings have leapt from their 250 year role as supports and independently dive off the porch into the bushes in a new evolutionary feature to escape the burning of Norwalk.

Norwalk: And They’re Off …

Matt “Mad Max” Breslow files the first horse race political story of the election season, which means that the election preseason is officially over. I will now translate all the important parts.

Candidates have waged most of this year’s mayoral campaign behind the scenes so far, but that’s about to change.

Nothing much has been happening except fund raising and meetings about how to spend funds.

However, Scialabba said the legwork began in April and is several months ahead of schedule, compared with Moccia’s campaigns in 2003 and 2005. The campaign soon will become much more visible, with Republicans going door-to-door and hosting coffees, Scialabba said.
