Norwalk: The End of Gasoline?

No more liquor permit for the nightclub Gasoline on Washington street. Gasoline owner, Tadhg Dolan, did not show up for the Hartford hearing and it’s unclear if the nightclub has been open according to a report in The Hour. Last summer there was a daily stream of news about parking lot altercations, guns and fights about the nightclub. While it is always distressing to see vacant retail store fronts in SoNo, the demise of Gasoline is likely a good thing.

If this is the old South Norwalk Bank property, it appears that the bank was the only thing that really lasted in that building. It might be better to split it up into 2 smaller places to see if it can stay open. At this point it seems way too much space to handle the rent. The owner of the property should see if there is any way to keep the place occupied, as it is becoming an eyesore in SoNo. Too much square footage, too many bars. Ideas?

I am thinking of the Ginger Man. The old Amberjacks. Sorry.

Gasoline is further up Washington St. across from the Post Office.

Come to think about it, it might not be too long before it is cheaper to run Canadian Club in your car rather than Gasoline.
