Norwalk: Fire Department Busy Yesterday

It seems that a typical day for the Norwalk Fired Department this week has meant fires and chemical spills, and some call to the Norwalk Museum. Yesterday afternoon, once my delivery got here, I observed Fire Trucks calling in on the Norwalk Museum. Perhaps the curator was stuck up a tree. Meanwhile, it looks like a chemical spill needed to be cleaned up on aisle 7, or Water Street. The absence of police support to direct traffic seems odd, especially considering that pedestrians would not know what chemical was spilled.

This article came up the other day and where the Norwalk fire dept was applying for their own grant for possible more manpower for the dept to staff a rescue. They have the permission of the City of Norwalk.

Please read the link provided and lets make sure we are behind the firefighters and send a strong message to the city that once a grant like this is given its important to back the firefighters after the grant money is gone.

You will read where other cities and towns are running into problems with no support because of financial restraint

It also said a new truck was coming into service by next year , having a full crew would only make sense,
