They accept the minutes with minor corrections, and omigawd Kevin Poruban finds a typos and tells the common council about it. He makes other adjustments to stuff he is quoted as saying. And corrects the Mayor’s “Different Stokes for Different Folks†comment.

Chelsea Kordas: Center of Community Youth program speaking in favor of the resolution against childhood abuse resolution. Asks the council if any one knows the number of abused children in Norwalk, 246 children was the answer. Cites three reasons to support the resolution. Gives an 800 number to report a case of child abuse …. Thanks Romano for writing and researching the resolution.

Someone knows who carries guns and shoots them in Bryant park. Likely it is the drug guys who ply their trade from the park. After Sunday’s shooting, Police Chief Rilling has decided to step up the presence of police in the area. From the Advocate:
City and police officials yesterday promised added police action at the Washington Village public housing complex after a weekend shooting at nearby Ryan Park, when a bullet pierced a young girl’s bedroom window.
No one was injured in the Sunday evening incident, but the family has been moved from their ground-level unit at the complex, officials said.

Or shall I say in the latest buzz way, there was a business invasion. Who knew that 4am, employees, who are not allowed to talk to the press, were working at the store. And what kind of corporate policy would decree that a store manager could not speak to the press about a robbery? Great job corporate HQ, your opportunity to get the details out to keep the public informed won’t exactly help you solve the crime.

The robbers, dressed in black and wearing black ski masks, confronted the employees at about 4 a.m. and took them into the office where they forced them to open the office safe, the Darien Police Department reported.
