good morning, if everyone out here took my invitation to come look at South Norwalk in particular who knows maybe you saw the robbery on Woodward ave at 5 pm the time I suggested. I’m no Jimmy the greek but while Norwalk police was slapping themselves on the back for a well done job in East Norwalk another vicious crime was being committed.
Mr. Mayor are you coming out soon the city needs you sir,,now that was respectfull people don’t anyone accuse me of being trashing this morning.
Ok so maybe everyone came down and the police couldn’t cunduct noraml patrols maybe the crowd was overwhelming last night I guess blame me for inviting anyone who wanted to see where I live in awesome South Norwalk.
I was asked the other day is it so bad,,you decide and I truly hope all the downtown crowds read this a matter of time they will migrate down to the heart of SoNo like banks its where the money is..
Ok so later today I will likely be writing about the crime and how Stamford police reported the crime Norwalk reported bull sh—t in the police blotter. where did all the crime occur boys in East Norwalk great headlines but I’m not impressed, keeping the robbery from the Advocate and not mkaing sure it was news tells me someone got thier hand slapped at the Advocate and someone stroked the HOUR why was that…
yes probably a reason I would like to know the policy of Norwalk police and when they do give out news to our news sources..?
I’m sure the victim will be found drinking in public and we will see his name in the court news the way our dept works.
Mr Mayor can you please come out we will have your picture taken if you do we promise..
so its open season on Woodward ave only a two blocks from the busy lovely very nice destination of downtown SONO where patrons feel safe.

The Hour reporters are lazy. They take what is given to them - the Advocate actually pokes around and investigates. The difference between reporters and journalists.
-
The Hour is the propaganda division of the Chamber of Commerce. Nobody wants too much crime visible in the newspaper. The Advocate isn’t beholden to local business interests so their take is less biased.

Exactly what I said the last two articles on what the feds said about Norwalk, and the descrption of three black males robbing a business in NY and shooting the owner in the face and using a out of state license plate responsible for at least 17 armed robberies since may was in the Advocate,,out of the city reporting coupled with AP articles and no help from Norwalk police makes reporting and editing in Norwalk a daily challenge,,cooperation on the police blotter only helps the residents out and they simply refuse to give the papers the tools to pass on to the public,,
replace anyone who is blocking this , I’m sure the Federal officials read this blog now that it has been brought to their attention,,if they had been on Woodward St yesterday I’m sure they would of sent a message to the thugs NOT ON THEIR WATCH!
Time to think about this I suggested many things out here someone said talk to them..well them haven’t listened in the past their not listening now and they continue to ignore plea’s by the elderly, the children the disadvatanged so why would they listen to me ,,
Bad pr in Norwalk is not helping tourism so when the fest happens and they decide more police more help to make sure nothing happens in the park who the hell is going to protect us
ok meds are kicking in I’ll take a break shop on line for a casket i may need one I have a large family..

The rise in daytime crime in South Norwalk is horrible and I hope something can be done to make me feel safe again.
Meanwhile check out this article:
http://www.courant.com/news/local/hc-nhsuit0615.artjun15,0,6974518.story?coll=hc-headlines-local
It’s about a lawsuit regarding anonymous defamatory posts on a blog. The women are suing the posters and it sounds like they have a good case. Reminds me of something local….
-
Something to make you feel safe? HOW ABOUT THE CITY DOING ITS JOB BY PROTECTING ITS CITIZENS.
As far as the lawsuit mentioned in the Courant article, that by far exceeds anything I’ve seen here.

#5 - Is that you, Consigliere Nolin? Trying to intimidate your foes with yet another underhanded method?
-
No, it’s not Nolin. Occasionally I’m appalled at the venom and brazen attacks and I can’t imagine anyone, even anonymously, posting like that. Call me naive…and I’m not trying to intimidate anyone. But it has crossed my mind that someone might sue a poster for slander and could the poster’s identity be found out?
-
Check out this blog. The first page or so of entries aren’t relevant to Norwalk, but then some of them begin to discuss Sal when he was working in NY.

Politicians and public oficials are open to critism. If they don’t have thick skins, they should get out of politics.

oooooooooooohhhhhhhhhhhhhh Mr Mayor seems the topic isn’t crime in the city but here on line, isn’t that conveniant for you ,,I suppose you came down and did your shopping at the yellow store checked in with your residents stopped by the homeless shelter gave anyone who needed a ride and your off for the weekend.
Stopped and talked to a bank employee today, an oficer was driving through the drive thru and saw extra security and joked about their presence,,it was obvious by his admission he didn’t realize the bank was robbed 48 hours before,,what do they talk about at the police station what areas to stay away from because its dangerous?
How could a police officer on vacation two days before a robbery not know there was one the minute he came back to work into a cruiser,,doesn’t the station have old newspapers around? Do they have a traditional roll call or do they have last call?
This is getting to be a circus wasn’t there one next couple of towns over,,and is Rilling the ring master or actually a trained officer to do the job of chief..
I know watch what I say,,I invited every one down to Woodward ave the night of the last robbery at 5 the ironically it was the time of the assault,
,I am so tired of the red herrings,,if the moderator wants to give the site up because she could feel the heat there are 100 ways to put this site under ownership in Bermuda and never worry again,,and still have what she has now..let the courts rule and then appeal and rule again we should know the outcome of this one after the election, until now lets just mix it up and point fingers at the ones not doing what they were elected to do.
something to think about when it comes to most of the problems in Norwalk
pppppp= perfect planning prevents piss poor performances and in Norwalks case maybe someone could run on that premise

Turfie: I am in total shock with regard to the ab ove blog’s postings. Can we rerun that link so others can see it? I believe it is something many of your readers would like to see, but may not.

Sal corda was the biggest liar, the only claim to fame he had was pulling the wool over people’s eyes like you. You said it HE WAS NO GENIUS, BUT HE WAS A GREAT LIAR.JJ is as well, I have no love for her, in fact I have about as much love for her as I had for LIAR Sal. He’s the past as she should be as well.
I would never work for this school district to much crap going on. The Board of Ed is in the toilet with JJ as was the last Bd of Ed in the Toilet with Sal.

Corda is now in the Norwalk School District in Connecticut. It was recently identified as a District in need of improvement under the No Child Left Behind Act, just like Peekskill.

well, it just goest to show, Peekskill knows how to pick ‘em: two failing superintendents (Sally and JJ) who help drive needy, minority-dominated school districts even deeper into the ground/cemetary.what a tragedy for both Norwalk and the Friendly City.
liar’s poker, anyone?

card games in Norwalk, shell games, and now this morning we get to send our qualified emergency personal out 4 for the engine company, 2 for the ambulance and maybe one police to check on people oversleeping in the streets. They were there all night take a ride throughout South Norwalk at night these residents sleep on business fronts walkways even cars and are not dealt with by trained officers of our dept that don’t have any resource for them. They see them but what can they do,,i realize their position they are not being supported by the city or the chief.
I think ,maybe its time city hall opens an annex somewhere the overflow guests of Norwalk can go get some shelter food and maybe fill one of those jobs the mayor is giving out..
Maybe just maybe some of the well off folk of Norwalk can kick in and donate one of the bays of their three car gagrage for comfort for those who don’t have they only need two bays for their vehicles.
These are social problems we are experiencing and if we leave it up the the Fire and Police chief to go public and highlight the problem beyond the Mayors damage control we have very little chance the ones that are sleeping on the streets that are probably becomming victims of crime.
To think I would have to use people in such a way to paint a picture, describe a normal occurance in South Norwalk is again heart wrenching.
There is help out there lets see some numbers on who is being taken care of who gets help who is running out of resources,,the churches help without any fanfare the homeless shelter produces some kind of numbers..
maybe the news outlets can do some background stats they can’t write about crime they don’t get any news, or much to work with..
A blackout of all crime and homeless incidents involving the fire and police now need to surface so the rest of Norwalk knows whats going on so they can make a informed decision on who they elected is doing what they can to turn our city around.
No one has to take my word , now that I have highlighted what I see and others confirmed such activity we are now to expect the outlets in town that need money for other arts and culture activities to promote such a good face of Norwalk to ignore the problems the the caretakers, the churches see this all the time.
Suppose if the the residents who are taking up parking spaces on Woodward ave( sleeping in the street) move to the ones in downtown SoNo there will be action, not because they need the spot for parking but need to preserve the image of an upscale tourist attraction.
I don’t enjoy inviting residents down to see whats going on maybe submitting photos would help , maybe a brochure , I’m sure the Chamber of Commerance would resist having them passed out at the kiosk for tourism at Mathews park.
The woman who walks in traffic in East Norwalk is now challenging cars as if they were bulls an accident waiting to happen,,come on council members your family sees this, it effecting them now as well…
the list goes on so doesn’t Norwalk
so have a very nice weekend and when some of you all come back to Norwalk the same picture will be here in black and white.

Interesting ideas. People operate on the premise of “out of sight, out of mind.” Having a website that gets images of the problem out there, like the Vets Park anti-development website, would force people to acknowledge and likely see the problems in a new light. Look what the Vets Park website did to the mini-golf proposal.

————————————Not only that, but it dragged the whole mini golf, partnership, give away scheme kicking and screaming out in the daylight. Like lions they are just waiting for their next meal, when another Brain Storm is proposed.

Don’t forget that amazing influence of this blog in this town. Without it many issues would never see the light of day.

The owner of the business I wrote about in the post above has died, they are still looking for three men with out of state plates for the shooting and robbery. The New York police said the trio have been suspects in at least 17 robberies since May. It seems it wasn’t a very good fathers day for him or his family.
