Guest View: Restoration of Pine Island Cemetery and recent vandalism

I am the longest serving member of the Norwalk Historical Commission and was chair of the cemetery committee from 2005 to early this year. Plans for the Bike Trail and associated parking lot just outside Pine Island Cemetery (founded 1708) date from 1999-2000 – predating all the people currently on the commission except for me. I’m sorry to say I have no memory of discussion of the plans in 99/00. The current excavation was begun early last month and the Historical Commission was not notified.

Norwalk: Weekend Updates & Open Thread

Last night the fog rolled in. And it’s still foggy this morning. Which clearly must have affected The Hour, as their web site is down. Most of the news coverage today centers on the state budget and the extraordinary dud this session managed to produce. Fingers are pointing, characteristically everywhere but where but at themselves.

But Amann said that if Rell had participated directly in budget talks, the issue might have been resolved without a special session.

Rell last week spoke with Amann and Senate President Pro Tempore Donald Williams, D-Brooklyn, by phone about the budget, Genuario said.
