Oh right, being arrested doesn’t mean that you did anything, you have to be tried first. Except that DeLuca managed to say, at least according to the “>Courant,
DeLuca, 73, admitted in a statement released by his staff Friday that he sought help from Galante to protect a relative in an abusive domestic relationship.
Galante, whom DeLuca said he knew through their mutual involvement in civic affairs, offered to have someone meet with the abuser, but the meeting never took place, DeLuca said.

Unlike many of his fellow Dems, Mike Geake is trying to avoid the feuds between the the various factions roiling the Democratic party. His campaign is focusing on what he calls a common sense approach to government and plans to focus on fixing sewers and roads and other infrastructure improvements. Geake has strong interest in forming a public power authority, which he says might pay for other infrastructure improvements.

What more can be said about Fordor Farm. I’m not sure. While Matt “Mad Max” Breslow’s article implies there’s then dar wrangling to be had, that’s not quite the case. Fordor Farm will be preserved as mostly open space with the buildings put up for sale as being deed restricted. The only issue is whether to create a historic district, to manage the space, or not. From the NOrwalk Advocate article:
The council has charged the land-use committee with evaluating how to protect the historical integrity of three 100- to 200-year-old homes at Fodor Farm the city plans to sell. One option is creating a historic district; an alternative involves deed restrictions.

After the House passed their version of the budget on Wednesday, the Senate passed that version along the same vote lines on Thursday, and within hours Governor Rell vetoed it. One of the provisions, according to the Courant, that I found odd about the budget was the addition of a sales tax on funeral expenses under $2500. I guess dead people or people grieving don’t hire lobbyists or something.
Lobbyists have had much to do with the legislature’s reluctance to get rid of zone pricing. From the Courant:
