Open Thread

Just  a note to remind posters that attacking another poster personally will result in your post being deleted. There are many ways to disagree with points said, calling another poster names is not the recommended or acceptable one. I have no plans to be draconian about this, so keep it civil and maintain the spirit of exchanging ideas and opinions without debasing each other.
I am looking into how to address the ongoing partisan bickering, mudslinging and otherwise repetitive posts. (You all know who you are.) There’s a place for that, just not in every post. Perhaps a special column devoted to the politics of politics.
I will be redesigning the layout and features soon so keep the suggestions coming.

As usual, use this thread for whatever is on your mind.

Funny hitcow. Except I provide links and references for anything I say. You in your characterization of me, have supplied none.

I guess that makes your the Court Jester then hitcow, since your comments always amuzing & ridiculous. And I reference that with any of your past comments (Like the one above).

I think most people here are kind and witty. There are a few that push it from time to time, but they are passionate.

I think we all get our buttons pushed once in a while. I have noticed that the Political Debates are where the nasty name calling is located 99% of the time.

Other than out right threats of bodily harm or obviously slanderous unproven charges being made, then it is time to delete the post, block the poster, or more investigation by the webmaster if they insist on continuing this dangerous problem.

Nasty name calling is not really a crime. Heck! You see the Pol’s doing it every day to each other on the National TV news.

Running this blog is not an easy job, it is a labor of love. Don’t screw it up.

How about listing the candidates/elected officials in one area and then people can make their comments on what they think has been accomplishments or not. This will give people a chance to vent for or against a particular person that they feel would be/wouldn’t be a good choice to represent them. Of course personal attacks are never nice but anyone in politics should have a thick skin and should take the criticism as food for thought. Perhaps this will make better elected officials in the future. Maybe they will see what people feel about their decisions and look into changing their ways.

Hey, Turfie - how about an open thread for today? I gotta get something off my chest.
