Does anyone know of any major fairs or celebrations that are fun to go to in the area? Is there a web site that lists all the events that you can share? Thank you
-
Here are two of my favorites:
and I think it is:
fairfieldcountyonline.com
The Connecticut Tourist Bureau has events, too. Of course The New York Times is great, especially the Friday edition, for NYC events including street fairs and walking tours.

Since this is an open thread, I’d like to solicit some help for a positive effort.
Ryan Park sits in the heart of South Norwalk, a block and a half from the new police station, down Raymond Street, behind NEON. It has devolved into an open-air drug market, with lookouts at the street corners just in case the police show any interest; they rarely do.
Enough is enough. We have formed a group of concerned citizens called Take Back Our Park to clean-up the open sore and start holding events there. Our first event will be Memorial Day: a large community barbeque with entertainment (still being negotiated) at the amphitheater.
Obviously, we can always use volunteers for an event of this magnitude, but we also are looking for our area non-profits who may want to have a presence like a food booth there.
Any help would be appreciated.

#2. Thank you for the information. And #3. good luck on staging your event.

What is up with the Democracy for CT website? There doesn’t seem to be a there, there.
And what is up with the Democracy for Americans - little chatter coming over the transom except a single local endorsement about a month ago.

Hey Chris. Not sure what’s going on with the DFA. I think their domain name expired, but they may not notice because they are all busy over at MyLeftNutmeg.com.
Mostly though, this is a municipal year, so not as sexy for DFAers to focus on as national years.
-
I hear you, but the whole thing about DFA is grassroots politics and supporting down-ballot candidates - the fifty state strategy. Did the Lamont campaign spoil everybody? Now is when you build the base….
-
Chris you are right. The Lamont campaign did spoil everybody. Once he was backed by the wrong people he lost a ton of support.
