More on Pagano Porn Case

Last week the Hour reported on the Police Report detailing the investigation. This week I am posting a copy of the redacted police report.

I still have questions. And when you read the Police Report you will too.

What We Know

On 7/25/05, a complaint is made to the Weed & Seed Program head. We now know that was David Watts, who held the title of Director of Summer Youth Employment. David Watts recorded the incident and brought it to the attention of the then Mayor, Alex Knopp. I spoke to Watts last week and he confirmed that he was hired by Knopp to run the Weed and Seed Program. He confimed that he wrote the Incident Report, and that he brought this to the attention of Knopp.

On 7/26/05, Pam Stark, City Clerk, files a complaint to the Norwalk Police Department which is listed below.

How does Stark know to call Stuart Wells about the computer? Why isn’t “Todd” questioned? Why does the Police call Stuart Wells?

Was there a meeting between any public official and the mother over whether to file a police report or not?

You can assume that more details will be exposed.

Seafood boil and seafood bubble. Eye of rumour. Taint of scandal. Make it dirty. Make it nasty. Bubble, bubble, toil and trouble. Have coffee with the Taliban. Make swift with the boaters. Bring the plague of shrimp on the enemy — Alex of Knopp!

This is a sad day for all those who decided to look the other way.

  • 3 anon // Apr 3, 2007 at 11:25 am

hey indiga, dont’ you think a police report moves beyond the realm of rumor? Have you no consideration for the kid who had the courage to complain to his mom, only to see how our government really works? Shame on the people who knew about this and stood by while nothing was done.

  • 4 Jen // Apr 3, 2007 at 11:48 am

Hey Anon-are you having a change of heart? You attack Dave Watts all the time.

  • 5 Concerned Citizen // Apr 3, 2007 at 11:50 am

And SHAHME on you Indig-nant for reducing this shameful event to a ridiculious rhyme (and a Bad one at that!) of a boiling caldron of taliban & swift boat potion. The only potion being made and drunk here, is the funny Knopp Kool-aid (more like Kook-aid) you keep consuming and expect everyone to agree with. I may of asked you this before, but what color are the trees in your world?

  • 6 dem4life // Apr 3, 2007 at 12:02 pm

Alex Knopp should be releasing a statement on clearing up this matter once and for all.

  • 7 anonymous // Apr 3, 2007 at 1:39 pm

Once again, Knopp didn’t do anything improper here, and the investigation ended. The great big question is why David Watts keeps forgetting to say why he called Stuart about the computer.

  • 8 Concerned Citizen // Apr 3, 2007 at 2:05 pm

EXCUSE ME?!?!? “Once again, Knopp didn’t do anything & the investigation ended.”?!?!?! I may not be a fan of David Watts, but at least he brought it to the DTC and asked Galen to step down as she should have. A kid is shown Hardcore porn and God only knows what else, Pam Stark has her hands all over this(which are as good as Alex’s), Galen & Stuart Wells computer is removed & Tampered with BEFORE the police get their hands on it and even when it gets a forensic evaluation of the hard drive, it turns out there IS porn on it. HHHHHEEELLLLLLOOOOO!!! How can a woman who did’t intentionally show porn to her students be facing 40 years and this get swept under the carpet?
One wonders? Obviously, more people then Indig-naat has been sipping the Knopp Kool-aid!

  • 9 Anonymous // Apr 3, 2007 at 2:26 pm

    Dare we say Knoppgate?

  • 10 anonymous // Apr 3, 2007 at 3:33 pm

Hardly looks like a bulldog tracking down a child predator…

  • 11 Anonymous // Apr 3, 2007 at 5:00 pm

What on earth is going on people? This is a botched investigation and no one should be proud of what happened.

  • 12 anonymous // Apr 3, 2007 at 5:45 pm

This is to anyone who cares to listen. Anyone who does harm to a child, be it physical, mental or any other type of harm it is called child abuse. Clear and simple! If you condone this behavior you are no better that the person who performed the abuse and if you try to hide it and look the other way you are an enabler. So for anyone who believes this is not important, think again. That person who performed these lewd acts and showed this porn may be working with your child! See if you make light of it then.

Thank You Anonymous #12. Very well said.

Here’s a local website that might give some of you something to think about when you see all the missing children and those who have been abused and some murdered, these are things that happen to young children on a day to day basis.

I found it on the internet when I was looking up some information, read the Christin Lamb story that should make you think twice. Oh and by the way,I think the author is one of our council people. What is the council planning to do on this situation? They already have an investigative panel. why not use it for this too?

  • 15 indiga // Apr 3, 2007 at 6:48 pm

Get a grip people. For all you know, the sexually explicit images could have been Fergie’s “My Humps” video. The police saw what was on the hard drive and what might have been erased; they talked to people; they investigated. Because they did not take Alex Knopp, Galen Wells, et.al. to Gallows Hill might just mean that there was no reason to. But that doesn’t make any difference when the vigilantes ride, does it? Yee-haw.

“Persons who scoffed at accusations of witchcraft risked becoming targets of accusations themselves. One man who was openly critical of the trials paid for his skepticism with his life. John Proctor, a central figure in Arthur Miller’s fictionalized account of the Salem witchhunt, The Crucible, was an opinionated tavern owner who openly denounced the witchhunt. Testifying against Proctor were Ann Putnam, Abagail Williams, Indian John (a slave of Samuel Parris who worked in a competing tavern), and eighteen-year-old Elizabeth Booth, who testified that ghosts had come to her and accused Proctor of serial murder. Proctor fought back, accusing confessed witches of lying, complaining of torture, and demanding that his trial be moved to Boston. The efforts proved futile. Proctor was hanged.”

Did you read what the kid said were the “images”? So far turfy is putting facts on the table and all you do is play 3 blind mice.

  • 17 marg5150 // Apr 3, 2007 at 7:33 pm

I have worked w/law enforcement for 14 yrs in CA & I was under the impression that once a child abuse report was submitted it HAD to be investigated. Regardless of whether or not the mother wanted anything done about it. Am I correct?

  • 18 indiga // Apr 3, 2007 at 7:43 pm

I read what David Watts said the child said. I doubt whether a 14 year old would know what “pornographic thumbnails” are. I’m older than that and I have no idea. I suspect that this might reflect an interpretation of what the child said. Who knows what else in the statement is Mr. Watts interpretation. As we all know, in child sexual abuse cases, questioning must be done in a way to not influence the perceptions of the child or traumatize the child further. I think that procedure was not followed by Mr. Watts. He probably should have immediately brought in the police instead of assuming that he was equipped to handle it.

  • 19 indiga // Apr 3, 2007 at 8:06 pm

In fact, now that I think about it, maybe David Watt’s questioning was so traumatizing for the child that this is what made the mother decide not to pursue the case — protecting her child from further inappropriate questioning.

  • 20 AL // Apr 4, 2007 at 12:08 am

Indiga- have you lost your mind?

  • 21 Concerned Citizen // Apr 4, 2007 at 11:36 am

What mind Al? I stated above that Indig-nant is a heavy drinker of the Knopp Kool-aid. Hey Indig-nant, What’s your explanation when the co-workers at Pagano’s chided the kid “How did you like the “training” video?” or the statement that they only hire those who can suck c@&% correctly??? Are you going to justify it by giving us another silly analogy from the colonial age? Come to think of it Indig-nant, are you sure YOUR real name isn’t Alex Knopp?

  • 22 Anonymous // Apr 4, 2007 at 12:44 pm

Still silence from the party of law and order. Looks like there is nothing there.

  • 23 AL // Apr 4, 2007 at 6:16 pm

Your right concern citizen it might be Alex Knopp or his supporters trying to stamp out the Dave Watts for Mayor movement. This young man is for real and I will vote for him come fall.

  • 24 anonymous // Apr 5, 2007 at 6:41 am

This is disgusting. Why hasn’t Pam Stark or Al Knopp put out a statement discussing their actions.

    The public is waiting.

  • 25 anonymous // Apr 7, 2007 at 12:23 am

david angelo watts is to be commended for bringing cover up knopp’s and galen wells’ newest folly to light. he is truly a man of the people and I want him to step up and run for office. all that he has doen in bringing the scandalous ways of a few to light in spite of overwhelming pressure is just what i want leading us as a politician.

  • 26 Sam // Apr 7, 2007 at 9:57 pm

Watts should talk about his membership to Yale Skull and Bones.

  • 27 david angelo watts is a man of the people // Apr 8, 2007 at 7:59 am

david angelo watts is showing courage by exposing his former mentor, alex cover up knopp for what he truly is. Keep up the good fight mr. watts. many of us support and admire you.

the politics column of mr. reilly also spoke of cover up knopp’s potential job. what is it ? would you really want to hire him for anything, i wouldn’t. the ethics commission, gimme a break. disgusting.

  • 28 anonymous // Apr 8, 2007 at 9:25 am

I agree with number 27. As an active Republican, I know too much what an old boys club can do for sweeping things under the rug dating back to the Esposito days. Dave Watts is an extraordinary young man for exposing the coruption that he observed, and this R will be voting for him this fall if he runs.

We need more people like him. Our current Mayor seems to condone this type of behavior since he is noticeably silent on the issue and appears to not support the rights of our city’s youths. He should be ashamed of himself.
