Norwalk: A few thoughts post hearing

My short takeaway was that at the end of the BOE speakers, there were maybe 5 people who spoke that were either not in support of the athletic programs, or worked for the schools.

But the key thing is that Corda presented a budget compromise solution, as well as acknowledged more budget negotiation. I will have more on that later.

As an overall note, I apologize to anyones name I mangled, and if you spoke and have a written statement that you’d like to appear instead of my paraphrase, please send it in. turfgrrl at gmail dot com.

I think you did a good cover on the story. I just would like for the Administrators down town to do right by our children. Mr. Corda should refine his budget requests so that the public can stand by him. It is hard to understand the slide of hand budget that has no solid ground to build. Why did Wells read a statement on Morris’ behalf? Why was he not there? And is he collecting a salary? Shame on him for making her look bad.

Thanks anonymous number 1. I think Bruce Morris was at panel about health care that was going on at the same time. Although, by the time Galen Wells spoke, I think that panel had ended. She also spoke on behalf of Kevin Poruban.

Turfie - I just wanted to thank you for a marvelous job on the budget. I attended so it was very helpful to be able to read your post and fill in the gaps. Of course, I’m sure it was helpful to anyone who didn’t have the opportunity to attend to have the script available on your site. For the record, I find your reporting on the money. I see you were accused of bias and for the life of me, I don’t get it. Keep up the good work, Turfie. You probably didn’t expect the blog to be this successful!

Thank you watchdog. The complaints of “unfair” bias originate from those that cited under the “embarrassment” series of posts, and the handful of remaining loyalists to those that like to hide “embarrassments” out of sight. Of course I am biased, I am writing opinion columns, but that doesn’t mean that I don’t report on facts, I just have my take on what they mean. And again, I highly encourage debate, dissensions and discussion about not only my take, but the facts themselves.
