Nedheads Can’t Let Go

Once again the usual suspects are at longing for the prodigal return of Ned Lamont to carry the blog-brand of a progressive politics torch and lead the way. This time the focus is on the 4th CD congressional seat, currently held by Christopher Shays-R. This time the focus is at least on the right race, that is, one that would occur between a Republican and a Democrat, instead of internecine warfare. But addictions are so hard to break. So instead of bolstering support for a Lamont candidacy, the blogging bouillabaisse is concoting round 747 of attack the Connecticut Democratic party, because, well, they seem to only understand attack. So what do I mean, well here’s the headlines and links to the relevant blog posts:

Wall of Shame Part Deux: Nancy DiNardo:

CGG catches Nancy DiNardo in a lie: … I really hate doing this. I would love to have a state party chairperson who rocks, but that’s not the case. Nancy DiNardo, who celebrated Lieberman’s victory with him last month, is hopefully enjoying what I suspect is her last ever term as Chairwoman of the Connecticut Democrats.

Update:What’s Lamont Up to?:

This afternoon I spoke to Ned Lamont at the COW meeting in Wesport. He has no recollection of speaking with DiNardo about running in the 4th district. She certainly didn’t call him to ask about it. Lamont also told me that while he is disinclined to run in the 4th, he also hasn’t ruled it out. My impression is that he’s waiting to see if someone else steps up to the plate.

Perhaps Nancy DiNardo was just confused. I’d hate to think she was actively trying to squash a potential Lamont run, especially since Democrats have a pressing need for a candidate to challenge Shays.

DiNardo caught in a BIG FAT LIE:

Seems like someone at State Central has some explaining to do…
Two weeks ago the CT Post reported Nancy DiNardo ruling out a possible Lamont run.
Greenwich businessman Ned Lamont, who ran unsuccessfully for the U.S. Senate, is apparently not interested in running for Congress, she said.

“After reading that Ned would be considering it, I spoke with him and he said it was not true,” DiNardo said

As it is many people have approached Nancy Dinardo about running for the the 4th CD seat, and none of them was Ned Lamont. There are talks going on right now with potential candidates and what it will take to win the seat. But somehow it’s more important for these Nedheads to blog self importantly and accuse the Democratic State Chairwoman Nancy DiNardo of lying. Lamont may very well want to run, and he may in fact be the best candidate to run, but with “friends” like these, he’s opportunity could tank before he himself has a chance to gather support from all the forces he will need to win the seat.

While I usually disagree with you turfy, you’re right on this one. Thanks too for keeping up with the posts, althogh the Norwalk slant is not always my cup of tea.

DFA shit stirrers at it again.

The DFA people are freaks. If you want to lose an election, just have them stand outside a polling place and hand out literature. I wish they would go away.

You’re right to point out that it doesn’t make sense to support Ned by accusing Nancy of lying.

I’d like to see Ned run for congress. He could win it, but he’d have to do something that these kind of bloggers won’t tolerate, which is be more centrist and conventional. Shays gets a free pass because he’s a nice guy and communicates well with his consituents. The people who he’s helped won’t be attracted to a candidate that likes to pander to activists instead of taking care of business.

Perhaps you missed that part of my post where Ned told me he was disinclined to run. He hasn’t spoken to DiNardo about this at all, most likely because he has no reason too. The point is that the conversation never took place.

CGG- I bet that Ned has talked to Nancy DiNardo about many things, including the 4th Cd race. Who hasn’t been talking about it?
