The Dodd stealth campaign makes inroads according to this ranking by The National Journal. This is an important gauge of momentum according to Chuck Todd, editor in chief of The Hotline and Marc Ambinder, Hotline associate editor. But in these early stages the horse race is the horse race, and it’s about money and staffing. Chris Dodd is doing well with the money. But can he do better?

Economic Development is not Educational

That useful term “economic development” rears its ambiguous head again in the growing dispute over what the city of Hartford can do on a parcel of land. The state took the land years ago from the city and gave it back with deed restrictions. From The Courant:

At issue: A triangle of land at the busy corner where two of the city’s main arteries - Farmington Avenue and Asylum Avenue - meet Broad Street. It is bounded by I-84 and commands a view of the Capitol and downtown Hartford.

Corruption Connecticut Style

When Martha Stewart got sentenced to serve jail time, stemming from lying to the FBI, it was hailed as a great for justice. Now, we were told, the penalties for evading the long arm of justice were set in stone. After all, what could be more damaging to the public, than the act of lying to the FBI when they are investigating financial shenanigans. Well, apparently, the lure of high profile insider stock deals is one thing, the rigged bidding of tax payer money is another. And then, this is Connecticut, where the corrupt get off easily, because if we put them all in jail, we’d have no one left to run our state agencies. From the Courant:
