Possible Abduction Attempt at McDonald’s

from a press release

Norwalk Police received a 911 call at 12:49 pm today reporting a possible attempted abduction at the McDonald’s Restaurant located at 726 Connective Avenue in Norwalk.

Officers responded immediately to the scene to investigate, contacted the complainant and gathered details of the incident.

Officers were able to review video surveillance footage and determine a description of the subject. The description was broadcast to additional officers assigned to check the area.

The surveillance footage shows a white male subject who reached out and grabbed the shoulder of a 7 year old girl as she and her party was preparing to leave.

The male subject did not attempt to pull the 7 year old away and was startled off after a verbal command from an adult.

No one was abducted, everyone is safe.

The male subject is described as a white male, in his early twenties with black hair, wearing a black fleece type jacket and blue jeans.

He may be in the company of a Hispanic female with her hair pulled back in pony tail.

The pair may have left in a small maroon sedan, direction of travel unknown.

The motivation for the incident is still unclear.

The Youth Bureau is continuing the investigation.
