Police Nab Three Guys In Gun Sale Investigation
Hot off the wires:
Norwalk Police arrested three individuals involved with the sale and possession of firearms on Thursday evening, March 18, 2010 at 8:30 p.m. The arrests were part of a joint operation involving members of the Special Services and Detective Divisions, with assistance from the Patrol Division.
Three handguns were recovered as a result of the arrests.
Sylvester Edwards 12-13-88 of 6 Levine Street Norwalk was arrested on a warrant charging him with:
- Carrying a Gun without a Permit
- Criminal Possession of a Pistol
- Altering Identification of a Gun
- Carrying a Dangerous Weapon
- Conspiracy
- Criminal Trespass 1st
- The arrest warrant had a court set bond of $250,000.00.
At the time of his arrest Sylvester was additionally charged with:
- Sale, delivery of a pistol
- Possession of a Firearm
- Carrying a Gun without a Permit
- Altering Identification of a Gun
- Carrying a Dangerous Weapon
- Conspiracy
- Interfering with a Police Officer
These additional charges carried another $250,000.00 bond.
Arrested with Edwards was Sergio Candelario 06-13-90 of 556 Gregory Street Bridgeport who was charged with:
- Possession of a Firearm (2counts)
- Carrying a Gun without a Permit (2counts)
- Altering Identification of a Gun (2counts)
- Carrying a Dangerous Weapon
- Conspiracy
- Sale, delivery of a pistol
- Bond for Candelario was set at $500.000.00
Also arrested with Edwards and Candelario was:
Rahsen Fisher 07-15-79 of 1535 Wilcock Avenue Waterbury who was charged with:
- Possession of a Firearm
- Carrying a Gun without a Permit
- Altering Identification of a Gun
- Carrying a Dangerous Weapon
- Conspiracy
- Sale, delivery of a pistol
- Possession of Marijuana
- Bond for Fisher was set at $250,000.00
All three men failed to post bond and were transported to Norwalk Superior Court this morning for arraignment.
