Investigation In Shooting Progresses

The examination of Norwalk Police Department surveillance footage revealed the events leading to the shot fired in front of the police station. Shortly after 8 pm on Tuesday night, the suspect is seen running eastbound on Monroe Street. The suspect is on the southern sidewalk where Tico’s Restaurant operates. Two other men are seen running parallel to him, also eastbound on Monroe Street, but on the northern sidewalk where the police department is located.

The net bit of action shows the two men crossing Monroe Street at the corner of South Main Street in the crosswalk. They quickly close the gap between them and the suspect who is now standing in front of Tico’s Restaurant.

As the two men run across Monroe Street at the suspect, the suspect fires one shot in their direction, northbound on South Main Street.

This causes the two men to run to back off and run away after the shot is fired. This was the only shot fired.

The suspect then runs southbound on South Main Street. The two men split, one man runs westbound on Monroe Street toward the train station.

The other man runs across South Main to the eastern side and continues southbound toward Woodward Ave out of camera view.

  • Tiny cars. Tiny minds.

Anyone else see the car? That car? Ya know the one thats tiny, real tiny? It comes roaring up and three dozen clowns jump out with cameras, measuring tape and huge night vision glasses looking for the clue. Now someone will come out and accuse the comment as being clownist. Hey if the show fits, smells like a clown, looks like a clown, acts like a clown, maybe its really a clown.

Why waste time investigating it? Sounds like justifiable self defense caught on camera, what more proof could the shooter need that they were coming after him and he was in fear for his life. If only more citizens whould do this, criminals wouldn’t be so quick to try and rob or assault someone. Go Paul Kersey.

  • Barnstorm

Second Amendment rights notwithstanding, just for once I’d like to see these morons hit what they’re aiming at. Most are so busy playing “gangstra” they throw caution to the wind. Someday some innocent bystander is gonna get hurt.

  • DO I DARE ASK

again how that highly touted “Gunshot Detector” is working out for the city?

Remember, the thing that was going to replace FEET ON THE GROUND.

  • Huh?

I don’t think any “gunshot detector” was ever purchased by the City.

    • BLARNEY

If they didn’t they were certainly considering it very closely as they had it already priced out by the company that sells them. If they didn’t then they made a good choice.

      Until they develop one that detects;
      gunshots
      stabbings
      muggings
      car jacking
      robbery
      DUI
fighting, and rape, then they have something.

OH Wait! They do have something like that. Its called MORE POLICE FOOT PATROLS

  • Spot the Shotspotter

The Shotspotter was purchased and has been installed since last summer in strategic locations of sono. One is prominently displayed. Maybe Turf, can do one of her photo contests. Takes at least three locations to work. Can anyone spot the “Shotspotters”?

Wasn’t it a $200,000 toy for our chief?

He has been like a kid in a candy store with a pocket full of coins and has gone a little wild and lost touch with what works.

Even put lights and siren on his Segway.

  • BLARNEY

    I rest my case.

    So again I say

“Hows that gunshot detector working out for us?”

There is nothing, Nada, that replaces the human ears, and eyes of a patrolman on a foot beat.

  • Stratford pursuit ends in Darien

Chase began in Stratford, Norwalk stood down, smart call from downtown, or is it wishfull thinking and they were actually asleep, when the troops came screaming through Norwalk, late last night. Hope state will be around next time we need their dog, though. State didn’t need an assist from Norwalk, anyhow. They KNOW, what they are doing.

    • NorwalkSpectator

Didn’t Darien just get a dog? If I’m not mistake, one of the reasons they got the dog was because they saw how well Pasa worked out in Norwalk. They are a whole lot closer than the State Police in Bridgeport.
