In A Pop Culture Not To Far, Far, Away …

For decades now, people have been meeting in secret to discuss one of the most important cultural icons ever to grace the screen. I’m talking of course about Jar Jar Binks.     I have to agree. All those sequels and prequels have pretty much ruined the experience.

    And what’s with all the excitement over this “Avatar” movie? “Avatar” is a complete ripoff of “Fern Gully”. Can’t these screenwriters and producers come up with ANYTHING original any more? With all the great books that have been written in the past century that HAVEN’T been made into movies, one would think that plenty of fresh ideas exist to work with, instead of recycling the same old stale already-been-done stuff to death.

    Back in the days, it inspired us to cram Joseph Campbell into our Quality rollout at a major bank. A highlight for me were the cheers on exclaiming that a Quality Vision was not a dream for the future but a way to look at the world today. Ah, youth!
