Tuesday Is Trivia Night at Archie Moore’s

It wasn’t too long ago that I used to hang in Anna Liffey’s besting Yalies at trivia armed with nothing more than a pint of Bass Ale and enough brain cells to remember obscure stuff like who was the vice president under Lyndon Johnson in 1964? That was before the ubiquitous mobile phone armed with internet though, and of course Google. Google is the ultimate reference tool. But you can’t use it at pub quiz.

Pub quiz, the time honed tradition of drinking and rattling brain cells looking for the 1973  Preakness Stakes winner, is here in Norwalk at the local Archie Moore’s.

Johnson didn’t HAVE a Vice President in ’64 because he took office after Kennedy was shot in late ’63. His running mate, and then VP, in the 64 election, but he wasn’t sworn in until ’65, was Hubert Humphrey.
But you probably knew that and were just testing us.

Trivia -I’m pretty sure that until Nelson Rockefeller came into office as VP under Gerald Ford, a President who entered office because the prior President didn’t complete their term did not name a new VP. Can’t remember which Constitutional Amendment- as a result both Ford and Rockefeller were the 1st unelected administration in the history of the US
