Norwalk Tree Lighting Tonight 7 PM
Norwalk has like a gajillion tree lightings this time of year, which means on your average political flunkie calendar it reads like tree lighting ceremony a night. They could event make it an Advent calendar. But tonight’s lighting is the one at City Hall, which should be the one that should represent all of Norwalk. Call it the unified tree lighting ceremony of the united taxing districts of Norwalk.

in the Community RoomDecember 7, 1941 – The Imperial Government of Japan attacked the Hawaiian Islands causing severe damage to American naval and military forces and the deaths of 2,403 Americans; thrusting our country to enter into the participation of World War II and declaring WAR on Japan.
“68 years ago, President Franklin D. Roosevelt declared December 7th as a “date which will live in infamy,” and from that day forward, our country was profoundly changed. Like so many others around our country, the Citizens of Norwalk chose to defend and protect AMERICA from its enemies and enlisted into military service demonstrating a dedication to our principles and our way of life.I am issuing a Proclamation which calls upon all Norwalkers to observe Monday, December 7, 2009 as a day of remembrance for those in our community who answered the call of service during World War II and that our community shall have a day of rededication and commemoration of Pearl Harbor Day.
