• Mikey

Moccia talks and talks but says noting…He is a typical due nothing B/S spin politician

  • Blarney

At least he does not spend billions that we don’t have, and leave payment of the debt to future generations.

  • Anti-Blarney

What billions have been spent? Please explain.

  • BLARNEY

The Democrats have a horrible addiction to spending billions and even trillions, soon it will be quadrillions. They just can’t help themselves. Spending tax money to Dems is like a Crack addiction. Why would Serasis be any different? SPEND SPEND SPEND then TAX TAX TAX. Dems just can’ t help themselves it is ingrained into their genes, from the top spot down.

PS Anti Blarney good start just change it to ANTI BARNEY.

    • Mikey

Yeah and the republications have a horrible addiction to lying…LIE,LIE LIE,then DENY, DENY DENY…Republicans just can’ t help themselves it is ingrained into their genes, from the top spot down. As far as spending from the top spot the FOOL George Bush Spent us into the mess we are in d trillions more..He screwed up this country the same way he did every business his daddy gave him.

  • Secondhand Rose

AAaaahh, now we see Mikey’s TRUE colors!! It has nothing to do with whether Moccia is a good mayor or not – it’s all because Moccia is a REPUBLICAN mayor!

I knew there was more to this story than meets the eye.

    • Mikey

Secondhand Rosie I WILL REPOST FOR YOU MY PREVIOUS POST..PLEASE RESPOND TO EACH AND EVERY ISSUE…as you fail to ever address any issue and just say give the fact..Here goes… “The only “point”that you make is that you have no “point”..You talk about Mayor Knopp, maybe you are not aware but that was 4 years ago, so lets stop the ancient history lesson and concentrate on the many many issues of today…I will help inform you of how you are wrong on each and every point that you attempt to make….First off you say that a cop is like a taxi driver ,construction worker ,or a secretary in that what they do on there own time really doesn’t matter…Well you are not 100% wrong on this but 110% wrong as a cop is a cop 24 hours a day as per state statue, so this is your first on many errors…But if you would like to talk about the issue that have been committed while police officers were on duty I will name a few of the many…1.The officer who took evidence out of the property room to cover up his son’s crime. 2. The police lieutenant that had porn on his city issued computer 3. The head of the youth bureau who inform Lt.Cummings that he was being investigated. 4. The officer that made the comment that the youth that was shot and killed at McDonald’s was better that he was dead…..These are just a few issues even thought some are not crime I would think that most would agree inappropriate. You say that Rilling’s job is not an elected position, no where was it said that it was….What was said is that Moccia as mayor and a member of the police commission has not once but twice re-signed Rillings contract, when Rilling has not been an effective leader of the department…As far the crime rate when Knopp was in office true in 2005 we had 8 murders and when Moccia took over in Nov. of 2005 a responsible mayor would have replaced the chief, but what did Moccia do…nothing. You talk about putting more cops on the street I am all for that even with a tax increase, but first we must have leadership in the police department that will use the funds correctly…As we have no leadership at this point, more cops would not fix the problem. Also maybe you are not aware but the mayor is the chiefs boss so the buck stops at his desk. Secondhand Rose you continue to support Moccia and deny the out of control crime issue in Norwalk…This seems the same as the fools did for the fool George Bush and we now see what that idiot did to this country …So it is time for you to climb out from under your rock and see the real Norwalk…The one that has out of control crime, no leadership in city hall, and even less leadership at the police departmen,t which in turn makes the Norwalk police department not effective…. What we need is a new mayor, who will hire a new chief from the outside, that will attempt to rebuild the Norwalk Police Department……I don’t expect you to agree as you are to blinded by your own fantasy of what Norwalk once was but is not any longer…What I do expect is that you will once again post a fact less points that make no point whatsoever, such as this one from your previous post ” sensationalized newspaper headlines ” Only a fool would call murder ans armed robberies ” sensationalized newspaper headlines “…MOCCIA AND RILLING MUST GO…….”

  • Secondhand Rose

MMmmm-hmmmm. Mikey, it’s not even worth responding to you now that it’s apparent what your real agenda is. Just get rid of Moccia because he’s Republican. Wow, that’s a really intelligent attitude to have. Doesn’t matter what the issues are; just get rid of the Republicans simply because they’re Republican. Sorry Mikey, you tipped your hat and spilled the secret. You no longer have any credibility.

  • Mikey

First off its no secret that I am a Democrat and its clear you are a republican as only a Republican would continue to support that disaster Moccia. But what I find interesting is that when your asked to prove your case over and over again you change the subject. You no longer have any credibility.

  • Beleagured Taxpayer

    Mikey,

I am sorry you cannot think logically–not to worry–the dumbocrats will think for you.

    • Mikey

      Typical Republican Blind FOOL

  • jillcooks

Why the hate speach Mikey? Seems to be alot of bomb throwing, why not offer some ideas on how these things can be achieved rather than name call, I get it you hate Rilling and Moccia, what exactly would you do differently? No matter who is elected I am sure they can benefit from your ideas. You seem very angry, and I am sure you have your reasons but rather than issuing the Moccia’s a jerk vs the Dems are better rhetoric, why not offer up some theories on how things could be made better…not, just get rid of this guy or get rid of that guy. What would YOU do to lower crime, what would YOU do to improve the schools, what would YOU do to keep taxes down and bring more revenue into the city? I look forward to reading your ideas.

    • Mikey

The first thing I would do is elect a mayor that is not in denial..If you listen to Moccia all is well all is well ,when in fact its far far from the truth..Also the reason for the hate speech as you put it is simple, I have been given another poster on this board facts that she keeps asking for and since she does not want to hear the truth, she asks for facts again and again. Oh and Moccia is a jerk and the Dems are better…Its the way it is..In my opinion anyone is better than Moccia…Come election day we will see…I am not saying Serasis is going to win but I bet he gives Moccia a run for his money…This is with a forth of the bankroll Moccia has and without his bully pulpit as the incombent…And as for your questions please answer me what Moccia has done in reagds to the issue you raise…

  • Perry White

    Mikey may be Merrill, if it is, well, guess he has a right to be, er, angry as some have stated. I dont read any anger in any of his statements. However it is apparent there is a growing segment of the electorate that are noticing things are not running right. That said;

Ms. Cook makes a valid point about collaborating together. Our basically two party system was supposed to be another check and balance unfortunately it has turned into class warfare, the us against them mentality. Everyone should be on the side of right and no one will obviously step up and defend crooked finaciers, nor should anyone be complacent or understimate the critical isssues facing our community, state and country.

Whenever Mr. Moccia loses or gives up his seat and finally retires, than what?

Yes major changes begin with changes in command but with that change in command there must be a coherrent strategy to not just keep changing faces but fix what needs fixing.

What is it that we want to change?

Anyone for traffic signal light syncing?

    Though that we tackled that?

    Never got done.

Seems like people are stressed enough but to have to pay through the nose for geting from here to there, to go one block at a time nearly anywhere in town.

    Somebody isn’t doing something right.

Anyone want to discuss the winter snow plow removal organization?

Year after year after year, the Hospitals ambulances sit crippled at the top of the hill, unable to respond to calls, awaiting a sand truck to hit the hill.

    Someone isnt doing something right.

    Crime?

What is the difficulty understanding this issue?

When folks are getting shafted, losing employment, losing their homes, recieving poor education opportunties, are taking hits from all sides and have no stake in their future , their childrens future, their community, crime is supposed to decrease?

Quick lets throw a few million at a studies so we will know how bad it is.

Its important for us to see things in multi volume, thousands of pages.

Than we must hire other folks to explain it all to us.

We have nearly a non exsistent safety net and way too many are falling though the cracks while politicians point fingers and sit on their thumbs.

Crime is up, violence is up?

This is some mystery to anyone?

When government that is bought and sold on the open market,

whoever has the dough wins and calls the shots,

and we have wall street is hauling the cash away by train load,

    -well what can we expect.

What you see is what you get.

Regardless of any critique, President Obama took the lead on trying to put the

power back in the people hands, by really walking the walk.

Without doubt we need binding national, state and local election reform laws.

Until we get to that point, changing faces is a start but only a start.

    Revenue.

Well lets take a poll here shall we?

Raise your hand if you agree that Govenor Rell should close down hospitals for children and borrow 9 million to give to Buffet aka Gen Re and Kruenher aka B.L.T., (the richie rich crew) to keep them happy?

Raise your hand if you want to give your cash, all of it, to the guys who already have most of your money?

Hmm, hey you guys in wilton, weston, westport, southport, ridgefield and yes we see you greenwich, you guys can raise only, ONE, hand. No cheating.

How many want to really OWN their homes?

How many want secure living wage employment?

How many WANT their children to recieve a quality education?

Before we begin to develop a strategy, we first must begin asking the right questions, do we not?

    • Mikey

Seems we need an IP check for the last 3 posts… They must be the same person since i can not beleive there are that many blind taxpayers

    • Mikey

“Mikey may be Merrill” No I am not…What I am is a fed up taxpayer that sees the town that I am from going to the dogs…I can not begin to tell you how many people I have heard from, that state they fear for there children to even walk to the store, with the out of control crime we have…I then hear some fools say oh Norwalk doesn’t have a major crime issue..Well just this past week or so we have had 3 armed robberies, 2 hight school students assaulted and one murder…not to mention many other crimes and not one has been solved.. Does not like Mayberry to me…But if you listen to Moccia, Rilling and a few of the blind in denial posters on this board all is well……..We need real leadership in Norwalk and MOCCIA is not that person and we also need new leadership at the police department and Rilling is not that person…What we need is a chief from the outside that will clean up the old boys club at the department..We can not control crime on the streets until we control the cops themselves…WAY WAY to many Norwalk Officers getting arrested and violating policy over and over aging…Rilling can not control his own departemnt…So what dose Moccia do re-signs Rillings contract.

  • Make a difference, NOW

  • jillcooks

Mikey, read Perry’s posts, he has some repectable points and keeps the partisan rants to a minimum. Ok light synchronization, really? is that the first thing?? ok, seems easy enough to remedy, but I dont recall reading anything about this before….explain what you mean, and why would it not be done? Mikey lets avoid the Moccia is idiot comments here, let just figure out how it could get done. Crime up, yes this appears to be true, but do you not think that is a result of the economy? How exactly could we “fix” this other than alot more police, thereby raising taxes enormously…for me I do not want larger tax bills. One of the greatest thing about Norwalk had always been that the when those who truly love their hometown work together it doesnt matter what their party is. I voted for the last guy who tried to micromanage the city, it didnt do the city any good and ultimately the divisiveness it created is still with us. I hope Mikey you can move beyond some of this hate…its not good for you, it will give you an ulcer.

  • OLD TIMER

Moccia brags about how few employees the City has, but never mentions that everything the City does it hires outside contractors. Hard to believe that saves anything. Funny, he never talks about his short career as a councilman.
Looks like only the police chief lives in Norwalk. Most of the cops live somewhere else. Superintendent of schools, fire chief, DPW director, all live outside Norwalk and spend their salaries outside Norwalk.
Some council candidates talked about a “living wage” ordinance on the books for all city contracts. Does anybody believe it is being followed ?

  • Mikey

You say to avoid the Moccia is idiot, but it is hard to do that when he seems to be….I do realize it is not politically correct however political correctness is one of the things that seem to get us in trouble at times….With that said the first thing I would do in regards to crime is bring in a new police chief….I know no one wants to here this but Rilling must go…Why, the answer is simple the NPD is just not effective and new chief from the outside, possibly an ex-state trooper or an ex-FBI agent would bring some discipline into the department…This is clearly something that they currently lack, which is clear by the number of officers that seem to get themselves in trouble, and also in regards to the number of unsolved crimes….I truly do believe that you can not clean up the streets until the department itself is cleaned up…I also have not seen Moccia or Rilling do anything to resolve these issue except the same old, all is well, all well, B/S denial..They first need to admit to themselves and to the taxpayer that all in not well in the department and all is not well in regards to crime…As a side note I was born and lived in Norwalk all my life, so were my parents, grandparents and even great grandparents…I am clearly aware that thing have changes as a country, but not to the degree Norwalk has due to the lack of leadershp..I hear your point about not throwing more tax dollars at the NPD and I agree…Why, simple the resources that they currently have are not used correctly, one of the many examples would be Washington Street on a Friday or Saturday night. The street is loaded with cops and patrol cars, I counted 9 officers one night on the street, all just hanging out shooting the breeze with the ladies..Its such a joke that we close this street when the bars close so the drunks don’t get hurt walking to there cars to drive home drunk….Anyonre ever hear of DUI road blocks instead of DUI escorts…But then again it just sets the tone of the NPD…I can all but guarantee this would not happen in Westport or Wilton… and as for anyone that comes out with the same old this is a city not a town…lets stop that excuse, good or bad police work has nothing to do with town vs city…I do not feel that Moccia has given leadership to Norwalk and he is not responsive to the issues..This is the reason I feel Moccia must go. It is election time and we need new leadership..I don’t know that much about Serasis as he is not one who has been in the lime lite, however Moccia has and he has clearly proven himself to not be the right person for the job. With that said I do believe he should be voted out of office to give some new blood a try….

  • jillcooks

Mikey, you did better there, you minimized the “he’s an idiot” and then there were ideas and issues there…I cannot say I have a real opinion on Rilling, but to say we should be more like Wilton or Westport police where “driving while black or hispanic” seems to be the only thing they pull over or arrest. I do know that we have alot of brave men and women busting down doors to impede or remove drug dealers and massage parlors. You may think that the latter “hurts no one” but it does give the impression that Norwalk is the place to go when you need alittle something. Trust me that does hurt our image and effects our property prices. As far as Moccia, he has encouraged the folks working in city hall to work together and help the citizen…the last mayor did not, and it did not help our city one wit. The biggest thing facing this city is taxes, we have enormous tax bills and yet we can only gloat about one of our middle schools and half of our elementary schools. Money thrown at the problem is NOT the answer…I think good leadership in the schools is the issue…that being said I hope that you will consider a change in the leadership of the BOE. Clearly the folks up for re-election have not been doing their job overseeing the highest paid city employee. I would hope that you realize that we need people in there who will spend their money wisely and not keep asking for more. I would hope that you would not let party get in the way of how you vote when you ask for change…shouldnt that mean change across the board?
