Mostly Fellow Politicos Attend Common Council At-Large Forum
NORWALK — With mostly fellow politicians and party faithful in attendance, the ten candidates seeking at-large seats on the Common Council appeared at a forum Saturday morning in the First Congregational Church of Norwalk on Lewis Street.
With the moderator of the roughly 90-minute-long program changing the rules several times – eventually requiring each candidate to respond to every question – a total of ten questions were posed, ranging from how the city can reduce its carbon footprint to how the city’s master plan can protect neighborhoods from incompatible development.
The forum was sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Norwalk, the Coalition of Norwalk Neighborhood Associations, the Norwalk chapter of the NAACP, and The Hour newspapers.
