We had one one our front window the other day! I hadn't seen a Mantis in 10+ years.

Cool! I'm hoping they're making a comeback. I haven't seen one since I was 20, up in Hyannis Mass. Haven't seen one in CT in decades. I've often thought of buying the cases and raising the eggs to release but the $30+ per case price stops me every time. Maybe someday.

You can buy the egg cases in the spring at Gilberties in Westport, they’re about $7. Hang them in a tree by string and they will hatch. It’s a fun thing for kids to do. I have a couple of praying mantis in my yard, they’re hard to spot but it’s really fun when we finally see one.

Aye, matey, I be checkin’ them out next time I’m in port. Thankee fer the notion.
