For the past four years, Calf Pasture Beach has been home to Slamfest a mix of X-game sports and music. This year the festival expands to two days and ads blues and reggae to its lineup of metal, hardcore, punk and indie rock.
Saturday features the free wheeling BMX showcase, motocross demos and of course skateboarding along with the harder side of rock. Headline band Kobra Kai, jams while Thrust Moto FMX (Freestyle Motocross) team will be jumping their bikes over 70 feet in the air. The complete Saturday lineup is here.
Sunday softens up the music scene with headliner Evan Troy Danner. From Noon – 7pm, on the grass a few hundred feet away from the skate park families are encouraged to picnic and boogie to a groove-oriented beat from the area’s artists original Jazz, Blues, Vibe Reggae, Funk, (Electronic) and House Music. The organizers hope that it “will unify the people with an incredibly positive vibe.” The complete lineup is here.
