Your Health Care Dollars At Work

There’s an interesting article from the Advocate  about pay levels for “C” level employees at area hospitals. Something to keep in mind as they lay off workers who make $45k. The Advocate:

Top hospital executives in the region, led by Bridgeport Hospital President Robert Trefry’s $2.5 million salary package, are earning paychecks that far exceed the national average.

A recent Internal Revenue Service survey of 500 hospitals nationwide established a median income and benefit package for top administrators between $377,000 to $490,000 a year. A group of 20 hospitals within the study paid their top administrator larger salaries, averaging between $1.3 million and $1.4 million.

Financial reports on file at the state Office of Health Care Access show that Fairfield and New Haven County hospitals routinely pay top executives wage and benefit packages in excess of those benchmarks.

For example, Yale-New Haven President Marna Borgstrom took home more than $2 million in income and benefits in 2008; Stamford Hospital paid President Brian Grissler $1.6 million; and Greenwich Hospital paid President Frank Corvino $1.2 million.

A chief financial officer at Danbury Hospital, who recently retired, earned $4.7 million in salary and benefits last year and a vice president for human resources was paid $2.1 million in salary and benefits.

Hospital representatives say the salaries are in line with other medical centers in the tri-state area, and point out that top hospital executives manage what amounts to a 24-hour-a-day, seven-day-a-week, operation.

It is a shame that some Americans are so gullible, to the outlandish propaganda and lies spat in the newspapers, television and radio about Obama’s health care agenda. They have demonized the British, Canadian and other worthy plans. Hidden under a disguise cover, these radical entities are determined to keep the special interest organizations in absolute power. Comprising of the money-draining profitable insurance companies and their rich stockholders. They don’t want any changes to the broken system of medical care, because it will hurt the status quo. I was born in England, in the county of Sussex and until the inception of the European Union and the European Parliament dictating to Britain. That they must accept millions of foreign workers, the nations medical system was exemplary. I never had to wonder if I would have to file bankruptcy, to pay my medical bills, or listen to the incessant ring of debt collectors on the phone.

On several occasions I ended up in the cottage hospital and their was never a cost applied to it, never a ream of paperwork. No doctor, no hospital or specialist ask me for my Social Security number, drivers license or if I was covered by a predatory for-profit insurer. Today the British Isles is being submerged under a barrage of legal and illegal immigrants, who have never paid into the system, have caused some rationing. Prior to the importation of foreign labor my trips to doctor, to hospital, the eye or a dentist was paid from my taxation. Unless we pass a national health care agenda, Americans will never know what it’s like to breeze through their lives, without worrying about paying for health care? Tell your Senators and Congressman you want an alternative to the–GET RICH– insurance companies, before a Universal health care is killed. 202-224-312 REMEMBER THE INVESTORS AND STOCKHOLDERS DON’T WANT THEIR PIECE OF THE $$$TRILLION$$$ DOLLAR PIE DISTURBED. EVEN SOME POLITICIANS HAVE THEIR DIRTY FINGERS IN THE PIE?
AS AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE PRIVATE HEALTH CARE, A GOVERNMENT SINGLE PAYER SYSTEM WILL ASSIST IN REVITALIZING THE WILTING US ECONOMY.

It wont be long under Obama and his minions that euthanasia will be paid by Medicare. Get rid of the unborn and the too damn old. Save money. AARP is going to lose it’s members and it is too dumb to see it.

How many politicians in the United States do you hear of that go to Europe to have their medical surgeries done?

When congress agrees to use the same medical plan the they are trying to force on us, I might start to believe them.

    Yeah! that will happen NOT.

Obama’s numbers keep slipping away. Apparently he’s not the “golden boy” any longer.
