PJ Pacifico- Norwalk’s Rising Star

Norwalk singer-songwriter PJ Pacifico is starting to gather some serious momentum in the music world. Last week, he celebrated the release of his second cd, “Always and Everywhere” with a killer show at Fairfield Theatre Company. Just a few months ago, he was selected, out of a pool of some 5,000 other hopefuls who submitted their songs, to be the opening act on the mainstage at Gathering of the Vibes, coming up this weekend in Bridgeport (gatheringofthevibes.com). The headliners there include some of Pacifico’s idols: Crosby, Stills, and Nash. It appears Pacifico’s label, Viper Records (viperrecords.com), has gotten more serious about him, having hired dedicated PR people to advance his music. And then, yesterday morning, WFUV played his version of The Beatles’ “I Want to Hold Your Hand,” the only cover off the cd of originals.

Looks like Norwalk may have a rising star on its hands. If you’ve never heard this guy, check him out at PJPacifico.com or catch him at Kayak for a Cause on Saturday at Calf Pasture Beach (kayakforacause.com). His style and songwriting are a super soulful blend of James Taylor and Graham Nash.
