Blast from the past? Completely clueless? Editorial mistake? You make the call. For the record Alex Knopp hasn’t been in office since November 2005, and held office for two terms starting in 2001.

“Norwalk resident, Barbara M. Davis demanded to see Mayor Knopp on Monday morning at City Hall reguarding a police dispatch incident.”

    The caption continues…..
“Mayor Knopp then berated his secretary, his staff, security, the janitors and his wife for the intrusion on his sensibilities. He then stuck his finger in the wind and created a committee to determine whether he would greet Ms. Davis in his office, in the community room, in the parking lot or at Timothy Dwight Hall. In the interim, he sent an email to his leaky roof committee to see what could be done about the torrents of rain that are hitting the buckets during school lunch time.

He then issued a press release taking credit for the “Schools for the New Millenium Program” that was started by his predecessor, Mayor Esposito. He issued another press release asking the citizens of Norwalk: ‘Master Plan? What Master Plan??

Oh, and did I mention the cover-up?

Yea, looks like one of the editors at The Hour totally blew that one– J. Ferrari? J. Walker? Sloppy.

“reguarding”? I know the Hour isn’t known for their overuse of the “spell-check” feature, but it’s anybody’s call on this one. We have clueless citizens, who keep re-electing the same goobers time and time again. We have a local paper that’s an embarrassment to the field of journalism. Top it all off with two main political parties; one with a boatload of bad ideas, the other with even worse ones.

Watch where you point those fingers. You could put somebody’s eye out.

What did The Hour blow? Are you speaking about the Fire Department debacle?

Sometimes, ok most times, The Hour is known for poor coverage. However, James Walker’s coverage of Fire Chief Denis McCarthy’s incompetance in handling the Scott Wilson case was the best coverage The Hour has ever provided. Walker did not let McCarthy’s lie about having no knowlege of the tape get covered up like some many have. It was only a day or two later that McCarthy admitted to having knowledge of the tape once proven by Wilson.
Since McCarthy has been in the Norwalk Fire Department the minority staff has been cut by nearly half.. One by One. He is currently working on his next victim.

Surprise! One less minority again.. last week the administrative assistant (chief’s secretary) left the fire department or was run out. You decide..

I have absolutely NO IDEA how competent or incompetent McCarthy’s assistant was, so this is not aimed at him/her – but I think in general Norwalk is doing very well in terms of minority employment. The REPUBLICAN mayor has a staff almost entirely female and until the recent departure of Mary Roman (voluntary – he’d have cut off both his hands if she’d have been willing to not retire) it was probably half minority. And he’s made appointments based on merit (as he sees it), NOT race/gender biased.

Still trying to play the race card in 2009 with a sitting black President?
