Lynn Moore is a very manipultive .. Isn't it a fact that she is being sued and the board has to defend her. A taypayers why didn't the the board review her situations, dozens of staff has left the school because of her. She has thrown so many kids out of the school over the years she has been there.Theres a file up at city hall a mile long with complaints made by staff members and parents.
put her in a position like superintendent then there will be nobody left to teach kids unless they agree with her every manipultive ways.
She does not even deserve to be a janitor at the school even janitors have hearts and care about the way the school is and have very close relationships with the kids they would make better principals anyday.

Mrs. Peacock is making me feel like I took the Star Trek Enterprise to an alternate universe. At first glance I thought Mrs. Peacock did it in the elevator with a screwdriver or corkscrew or something screwy but when I re-read it, I realized it wasn't Mrs. Peacock after all!! Yeah, but sorry, Mrs. Peacock, I somehow don't think that is a good guess unless I have entered an alternate universe. But good try!

214 - Yes, I have one. In reference to The Hour's June 26, 2009 issue (re: "Norwalk resident, Barbara M. Davis, demanded to see Mayor Knopp on Monday morning at City Hall regarding a police dispatch incident"), the white-haired gentleman The Hour suggests is, in all probability, Richard Moccia, who was noticed riding the elevator at City Hall several times this past week.

My guess is they don't think anyone from Norwalk would be good - or they know Tony isn't qualified so they can't move him up. Don't know why they don't see if others in the district aren't interested.

According to today's "Hour", it was a gentleman "with white hair." I'm guessing that does not fit the profile of any current administration. Any guesses?

Seems like it would have to be someone from central office since it hasn't been posted internally or advertised.

#208 - you sound like you have no problem with the status quo. You like the way this board operates - illegally posting their meetings a few hours before hand so no one knows what they are up to - you are either a board member or a friend of Tony's.

RE: #158, #161 etc.

Clearly my use of the modifier 'young' was misconstrued. I should have clarified that I was referring to a state of mind.

Older, wiser, vigorous teachers should be treated as a protected species! Burnt-out, whiny, bitter, hostile, entitlement hunting, not-in-my-job-description, 'education professionals' would have a difficult time with the necessary reforms.

Reforms is a mild word for the changes that need to be made. that's why I said it would take two years.

Someone asked what school I work at... heh-heh-heh! I do not work in the NPS, wouldn't dream of it! No, I work in the private sector. I have responsibilities, and accountability; the two major characteristics that are missing from the government school system.

Tenure is a concept that, like PATCO, has outlived its usefulness, and caused its own destruction. If a teacher is seeking tenure, (s)he should do it at any of the great universities.

What are the goals of the NPS? There are several, but which are the important ones, and which are the consequential? I believe the primary goal is to produce well educated young adults. Further, unlike the private sector where time is a variable constraint to be optimized, in the schools the full cycle is fixed to 13 years.

Before I close this note, I must raise a few more hackles in the readers. I will state that the quality of the feedstock varies over a wide range. However that is OK, because although there is a wish that the characteristics of the final product meet some idealized standard, the harsh reality is that there is a broad range of acceptable qualities that constitute a graduating class. Ooh -- I can hear it... my ears are burning.

But I see by #207 that it's all moot.
