Attached is a photo of Michael Giblin, age 38, of 24 Buckingham Place Norwalk.
Mr. Giblin was reported as missing earlier today, 03/25/2009 at 00:10 hours by his wife, Debbie Giblin.
Mr. Giblin was last heard from at approximately 5 p.m. yesterday, when he spoke via cell phone with his wife. He indicated that he was at Calf Pasture Beach in Norwalk and would be home shortly for dinner. Reports indicate that he may have been depressed.
Mr. Giblin’s vehicle, a 2006 Volvo station wagon color grey, was quickly located by responding officers adjacent to the Sunset Grill, a waterside restaurant on Beach Roadwithin the Cove Marina property.
An exhaustive search of the area, both land and water, was conducted throughout the night by the Norwalk Police Department with assistance from the Norwalk Fire Department. Police K-9 teams from Norwalk Police as well as the Connecticut State Police responded to assist. Connecticut State Police sent a second K-9 unit, a bloodhound, to assist as well. The Norwalk Police Marine Unit and United States Coast Guard search the shore and harbor area as well as Charles Creek.
Additional searches of the area; both land and water were conducted this morning, in the light of day. Michael Giblin was not located.
The Norwalk Police Department Detective Bureau has assumed the investigation.
