Bet you would be all for that.......

Correct me if I am wrong.

True, plus they create an already existent tendency to not make the city feel like one entity. One nice lighting ceremony of an official city tree would be a city-wide event that could make everyone feel included. The Green is the obvious choice given that pathetic little thing in front of city hall. Doesn't mean neighborhoods and taxing districts couldn't do what they wanted - but one official city tree would be nice.

One giant tree lighting on the Green would do it for me. All these tree lightings are ridiculous and a big waste of time, manpower, and money.

One city tree lighting? NO WAY. 'Cause East Norwalk Third Taxing District rocks and our district commish can beat yours! I say we start a little friendly competition for best tree lighting! Prizes for best tree, best musical caroling, best hot chocolate and cookies, and best Santa!
Hmmmmm, now we need some judges........

Sorry I missed this one, but I had the Yale Alley Cats caroling in SoNo that night. Hope you all had fun and sounds like a great turnout. But.

Does Norwalk really need a gajillion tree lightings? Can't we all just have one? Food for thought.

As always the 3rd taxing District put on a great event. No small kids of my own but I always enjoy going each year to watch the little ones as santa steps out of the fire truck. Everyone gets into the caroling, young and old alike, there's lots of hot chocolate, coffee and goodies to go around for everyone served up by Ana Aguilar of the 3rd and Win Baum of the East Norwalk Business Assoc. Other than the greetings by the Mayor, Bob Duff, Chris Perone, Tim Plunket, Paul Kokias and Dave Brown with introductions of local officials who attended, there was no politics just everyone coming together for a great time. Wish my grandkids still lived in Norwalk. After that most headed over to the live nativity which was a huge success to adults and children alike. Thanks to all who attended to make this year a festive occasion for all. a really nice touch was newly opened Licari Florists in the Ludlow shopping center handed out single long stem roses with a certificate for a 10% discount to just about every adult present. Great touch!

Merry Christmas and a Happy, Peaceful and Prosperous New Year to all. Take some time to thank our service men and women who won't have the comforts of home this holiday season.

Thanks to TTD (David, Tim, Paul, Ron, Anna, et al)all the volunteers, thanks for the cookies (David Brown's were wicked good!) and hot cocoa, and Licari florists for our free roses (beautiful!), Marvin School chorus, Deja Vu, East Norwalk Fire House and Santa Claus (Dear Santa, I can explain), Mayor Moccia -Sen. Duff -Rep.Perone for keeping your speeches short & sweet, TTD group who strung the lights! I'm probably missing a few names, so thanks to everyone for a wonderful neighborhood evening. It was great to see you, too, Art and lots of folks I haven't seen in a bit.
