Tap Into the Healing Feeling in Norwalk

NORWALK (Nov. 21, 2008)—Why wait for the new year to jumpstart a healthy life-style program? On Wednesday, Dec. 3, from 6-9 p.m., several alternative health-related businesses will promote a holistic view of health and well-being with an evening of free lectures and demonstrations under the heading, “Try Norwalk Naturally.”

At this unique event, the public will have an opportunity to:

  • Taste organic, living foods prepared by The Stand and learn about the benefits of its famous, five-day liquid cleanses.
  • Hear Dr. Brian K. Nathanson talk about the Graston and Active Release Techniques and how his use of them in his practice, New England Physical Care, differentiates him from other chiropractic physicians in the area.
  • Feel the healing touch of Indian marma massage offered by massage therapist Lorraine Gengo of The Magdalene, who will provide an overview of Ayurveda, India‘s indigenous healing arts system, and how Ayurveda and massage in general promotes vitality and greater well-being.
  • Smell the intoxicating aromas of the essential oils and bulk herbs available from Norwalk’s natural apothecary, Centre for Natural Healing.
  • Learn from Dr. Lisa Gengo how naturopathic medicine is effective in treating chronic diseases, and how her practice, Path to Healing, provides a special focus on cardiac health, as well as men’s health and acupuncture.
  • Connect with Kristen Howard of Pymander, who will talk about the upcoming events at her transformational and inspirational bookstore, which helps seekers in their journey of self-discovery.
  • Unite with the yoginis of Saraswati’s Yoga Joint to learn about the therapeutic benefits of a regular yoga practice.

After the presentations, there will be a chance to ask questions, receive a marma massage, and enjoy free refreshments. Drawings will be held for a free Ayurvedic assessment, a supplement consult and a foam roller therapy tool, as well as other offerings.

“Try Norwalk Naturally” will be held Wednesday, Dec. 3 from 6-9 p.m. at Fat Cat Joe, 3-5 Wall St., Norwalk. Call Brian at 203-313-3844 for more information.
