Morris Says We Must All Sacrifice To Improve Economy
The Hour records re-elected State Rep Bruce Morris’ words post election. I’m curious if this sacrifice means that Morris will stop taking tax payer funded salary for hours he does not work for the BOE.
“Our economy has been such that 1 percent of the country, according to some statistics, has benefited from the economic growth of the past 10 or 12 years,” said Morris. “It is going to be essential to start to take a look at economic policies that reward the hard work and labor of the everyday American citizen.”
. . .
Obama also needs assistance from citizens to strengthen the economy, according to Morris. Part of Obama’s message promotes sacrifice and hard work instead of “the selfishness that we’ve engrossed ourselves in that caused us to be in this financial crisis,” Morris said.“The message is: ‘Yes we can’ and, yes, we did elect him,” said Morris, “But now we must use the same inspiration to dig down deep and, as he says, be willing to make the necessary sacrifices with the economic realities that we have in front of us to build a stronger, better America.”
