I think you're confusing allegations by the RNC with fact, which I am sure is their agenda. Of all the sites I found mentioning this new attack by the GOP, there was only one mainstream media outlet that saw fit to mention it, and that is in the UK. All the others were clearly biased or being run by conservatives.

Ok, but does it change the fact that there's some things untoward with donations? I just googled obama campaign financing under scrutiny after I read #40 and there's a ton of links to the same type of indiscretions. So who the author of that piece is may or may not be important.

You may want to consider whether the author of that article, Ken Timmerman, has an agenda to peddle. He's a journalist, political writer, and conservative Republican activist who in 2000 was a candidate for the Republican nomination for U.S. Senator from Maryland.

Timmerman has been accused of yellow journalism in relation to his work on Iraqi WMDs.

He has also been accused of excessive partisanship in relation to Iran and his work on the Foundation for Democracy in Iran. As the American founder of an organization that claims to represent the interests of Iranian democrats, his opinions have little influence in the Iranian diaspora.

He has been accused of stoking conflict with Iran (a charge which his supporters deny), by misrepresenting the threat of an Iranian nuclear weapons program, as well as denouncing the National Intelligence Estimate which clearly states that Iran had ended a project to design nuclear warheads some years ago, although they increased their efforts on the more important parts of their program for building nuclear weapons. Timmerman denounced the misleading way in which the unclassified summary of the report described the report's conclusions.

Obama Campaign Runs Afoul of Finance Rules

An investigation of Barack Obama’s presidential campaign finance reports has turned up more than 2,000 cases in which individuals have made donations far above the legal limit of $2,300 per election.

On Aug. 31, for example, the Obama campaign filed a report listing a single donation from a Debra Myers in “Rancho Palos Verde, Calif.,” for $28,500 – more than 10 times the amount the law allows per election. Although Debra Myers is identified as a physician, only two individuals with that last name have a listed phone number in Rancho Palos Verdes (the city’s name actually does have an “s” at the end). Neither is a Debra or a “D” Myers, or a physician.

The Obama campaign also identified Woodrow Myers Jr. of Indianapolis, Ind., on Aug. 31 as having given $28,500 to the campaign. Woodrow “Woody” Myers is a former Indiana state health commissioner who spent $2.1 million of his own money in a failed special election to challenge Andre Carson, the grandson of U.S. Rep. Julia Carson, who died in December. The younger Carson won the race this year, with heavy backing from lobbyists, the Democratic Party and related PACs. (Interestingly, Woodrow Myers’ wife is identified as Debra, although Newsmax could not confirm whether this is the same Debra Myers the campaign report lists as being from Palos Verdes.)

I like how this thread gets started by # 1 of the SMD 3, posting a link to the "REAL" story...

...especially how a majority of the timeline in the link predates Obama's entry into the US Senate, yet manages to pin some of the blame on him for conditions that began 5, 10 and 20 years before he held a federal position.

While we are at it, can we blame Obama for the '69 Cubs collapse? He was alive in `69 and who cares if he was in elementary school. A muslim terrorist is a muslim terrorist, and only born again republicans like us, who never, ever make any mistakes or engage in corrupt acts would know.

Of course, the bankers and wallstreeters that milked the system are in no way culpable.

No matter which one of these politicians get in, they will do 98% of what they want and not what they promised. The middle class will take it in the rear no matter who gets elected. If Obama is elected and the Dems sweep the house and senate, then the ball is in their court, and they will rise or fall on their operation of the Government. It might be the best thing that ever happened to the Republicans. Let me repeat the middle class will come in last again in any case.

#29: Some Democrats no doubt do have potty mouths, but we are talking about the candidates for the presidency. Mr. Obama does not. Mr. McCain does. Moreover, Mr. McCain has had a lifelong problem with a nasty temper and meanness. In fact, in high school, his nickname was "McNasty."

All the polls show obama ahead of mccain, some say by 11%, most by less, but all agree Obama has the lead.
Some of his attack ads have cost mccain. The voters know when they are being lied to, and they resent it.

#30: As Senator McCain and Governor Palin would tell us, anything that addresses a candidate's character is fair game. Therefore, this is our business.

By the way, you are still confusing two different issues. This has nothing to do with the "vacation" story.
