your right #35 moving on running the city and thinking about the here and now has always been a problem with our officials and the crew that is working for the machine. When this passes we will hear but not see city facts and figures just more rumor and smoke screens as they run and plan a city and forget the needs of its residents and taxpayers.Confusion always is the tool they use to get what they want and not what we need.

I heard that alot of the messages that have been left on this and other sites like this have been left by fellow police or public officals. You should be ashamed of yourselves to lower yourselves to gossip, because this is all this is……. is busy bodys gossiping……..

After reading all the imputs on this page, I think all of you have too much time on your hands. Try doing something more productive with your time and help others. It sounds like all of you are either very morbid or are just trying to get in on the latest scandle. Either way a family has lost a loved one…….. when the investigation is done, the results will be stated ! Until then why doesn’t everyone just keep there theories/options to themselves and allow this family the proper privacy anyone deserves.I truly believe that this site was not set up for the reasons you all have been using it for. By the way, the only reason I read this site was because I was researching information regarding another matter.

#8 – You sound like a very ignorant person,along with some of the other “supposed” taxpayers.Matt Morelli was a good man and a loving father. Maybe if it was suicide, it was to get away from people like you. Maybe he just could not take the crap that goes on here anymore. You know what you need to know, and you will know the rest when it is conclusive. Though, it sounds like you formed your own opinion and quite frankly who gives a damn what that is. Let’s see where you are on judgement day, you better hope God is more forgiving than you are!

Because when Keith Sumpter committed suicide in S.Norwalk, they thought it was some kind of coverup and rioted. They may think the same thing if they say this was a suicide.

#28: That is goulish, don’t you think? We don’t need to know if there will be a viewing of his body. What we should be thinking about (and praying, for those who believe in the power of prayer) is how his family can learn to live with this grievous loss.

In the absence of any other statements from the police or from the media, I cannot imagine that this is anything other than a suicide. The news reported that he had been shot with an AK-47 and that his hand was still on the barrel, with the weapon under him. Chief Rilling said that back-up arrived within a minute of Officer Morelli’s reporting that he was exiting his car to investigate suspicious activity. I don’t pretend to have any training in crime investigation, and so I realize that my conclusion is subject to criticism, but how would it be possible for someone to kill him and set the stage for it to look like a suicide with so little time in which to do it? As I said, this is based upon very limited information. Perhaps more will surface.

Why is it important for the public to know if it was murder or suicide? It is because of the sick feeling many of us experienced when we first heard that a police officer had been murdered in the line of duty. It resulted in fear among so many people, especially those in the neighborhood who saw officers with shotguns, roaming the streets, and who heard police helicopters hovering much of the night. A manhunt in the neighborhood is enough to scare anyone. The thought that a police killer might be in the community is also frightening.

unfortunately homebody speaks the truth. They are not going to release it until after the funeral or so I’m told. At least it’s nice to know that there is not a cold blooded copkiller running around Norwalk.

Sadly it is a suicide.
NPD has to wait for finial State Report to release information.It has to be conclusive for a variety of reasons.They are benefits,insurance to family and so on.
Nobody is hiding anything,
I hope for his memory and family they do not release it till after the funeral. Let the poor man rest in peace.He bravely served our country and community.
